Whats going on
Posted by Lyndon Brown on March 27th, 2007 |
As you may or may not have heard, this month the AutoPatcher core is being updated from version 5.1 to version 5.6. This upgrade involves a lot of work converting our releases to the new format, and is actually taking a little longer than I expected.
You can view my progress report here, and as you will see, it's looking pretty likely we may have to go for an April release rather than a March release and due to the amount of stuff to be done, we'll be skipping the March release and going straight for April.
I apologize to anyone who's pre-ordered a CD/DVD for the delay, you'll get them as soon as possible, I'm working my ass off to get these releases done.

Take it easy. No one is going to die if you guys don’t make the deadline. Thousands of hours of work for us, and it’s all free, so no one can complain. Thank you!
Just one question: will this release have all the patches released by microsoft for windows xp since SP2 was released?
I’m trying to create an unattended xp installation CD and I need all the patches for slipstreaming, but I don’t know where to find the official list of those patches. Does anyone have a link or tips I can use?

I just purchased an autopatcher cd. Will I need to purchase another one for the March/April updates? I can’t download any windows updates because they say my copy is not genuine, which isn’t true, it just shows that because of a mistake I had to correct.
Really liked the CD - helped a lot!
Also, is there any way to repair sfc “scannow”?

Sharon, if you purchased a CD/DVD, it will be shipped with the April releases, if Lyndon goes with April.

I would like to give you guys a greeat big THANK YOU for the work you have put into this for everyone. So if March takes until April, who cares. When its ready its ready. Sometimes things take a little longer to get it right. My grandmother always said “Good things come to those who wait.” I’ll wait.
Message to Sharon who says she can’t get any windows updates: Even oif Windows Update (WGA Tool) thinks your copy is not genuine you can still get updates you just can’t go the update site and choose them. Setting download updates automatically will still allow them to come through but won’t allow you to load IE7 or WMP11.

I have a question. These autopatcher could be used in case of a not genuine windows xp or not. In fact, xp is good but too expensive to afford in my country
Thanks
