Important information regarding ordered CD/DVD’s
It has just come to our attention that paypal operates a 60 day refund window rather than a 90 day windows as previously thought. After that you can only be refunded the amount sales receives after paypal fees are taken out. For example, after 60 days, from a $7 order, you would only be able to get back $6.50.
The new releases we have been working hard to complete since March are literally just around the corner now. However, if you are fed up waiting and wish for a refund, please try to request one before 60 days have passed.
Once again, thank you for your patience and understanding regarding the delays. Blaze
Update: Okay, time for another status check. I know i said it would be done by today (Sunday) but it's slipped again slightly, partly because my brothers keep making so much damn noise i can't concentrate and won't shut the hell up, partly because this last feature that i thought should be easy became the most complicated piece of code in the entire script due to the fact i had to build in a tracking system to prevent a potential infinite loop which may have resulted in a system crash.
So, plan:
- Monday: finish up last little bits to the script; compile the releases; do a little final testing; start the upload process;
- end of Monday or Tuesday: the upload will be complete, Ben can get a copy and send off those long overdue CD/DVD's, and the releases can spread to other mirrors;
- late on Tuesday or sometime Wednesday release to public.

May 27th, 2007 at 12:45 pm
Thanks for posting the information for me Blaze!
I just hope everyone understands their CD/DVD will be shipped as soon as the new version is released. I just wanted this information available so purchasers know what I am able to do if they are frustrated with waiting for their order.
Thank you for your patience.
May 27th, 2007 at 12:52 pm
thank you AP team for your self sacrificing..
May 27th, 2007 at 2:10 pm
“JUST AROUND THE CORNER”
please spare us.
I understand that there is a lot of work involved in something like this. I also understand that you do this out of the goodness of your hearts… so spare me that too.
it doesn’t excuse silly repeated deadlines. you said this release would be in April, Then ‘a may release’ then on the 10th you said a few days, as recently as this week you said before the weekend. Well the weekend is almost over as is May.
Now it’s around the corner… how can you get it so wrong so many times. If you don’t have a clue … which you obviously don’t then don’t pretend that you do. No more promised delivery dates please!!
Thanks for all of your hard work, AutoPatcher is really cool, but your project management skills are terrible.
May 27th, 2007 at 2:21 pm
hI and thanks to the AP team for ALL thier hard work,
Can we please have an idea of the stuff you need to do so that people can help?
Maybe this should become an open source (sourceforge???) project so that other (trusted) people can contribute (instead of moaning)
p.s I advise people to wait for CD/DVD’s and not refuind
May 27th, 2007 at 3:42 pm
Open source.. said it 1000 times.
They’re too content making money off software they didn’t create. Perhaps we should inform MS?
May 27th, 2007 at 5:02 pm
I think the smart people out there, will use this post as a reminder to order AP CD/DVD before sales themselves say all new purchases must wait.
May 27th, 2007 at 5:21 pm
@ aw4t: Be my guest.
May 27th, 2007 at 5:45 pm
Evidently people that have not ordered or do not read their emails have responded here.
ALL people who have placed an order over the last 2 months have been emailed and asked if they want to wait for the new version or be shipped February. I think I had an email problem earlier this week so a few people haven’t been contacted until today.
I am only trying to help people here.
@aw4t- crawl back under your rock. AutoPatcher is software that Antonios wrote to help people update their systems. The patches are MS’s but the concept and code are HIS. MS knows about AutoPatcher and is fine with it. Idle threats just show off ignorance.
May 27th, 2007 at 5:45 pm
To the Autopatcher team:
Thanks for the hard work… the time AP has saved me in my Windows installs is fantastic. I used to download all the patches by hand and use a batch file to accomplish the same thing. Unfortunately, I quickly realized that it was impossible for me to keep up with the frequent releases and re-releases. I genuinely appreciate the effort and time that is put into these releases.
To the whiners:
Seriously, if you don’t like the delays, I advise you to download the updates yourself from the microsoft.com/downloads/ site. Then, drop them all in a folder and use a batch file to DO IT YOURSELF. It’s easy:
Create a file called Hotfixes.bat and put the following in it:
filename.exe /q /z
Of course, you should make sure you put them in sequential order according to their release dates, and you should make sure that you actually have all of them (a process that I guarantee will take you several attempts and several hours or days of time).
Seriously… bit your quitchin’ people… If you bought the CD/DVD’s then you’re entitled to request the refund and do it yourself … OR … you can wait patiently and shut up already so the rest of us can read more informative posts.
May 27th, 2007 at 6:46 pm
Look these guys work hard in their own time to save you time. So its taking longer than usual because they are making it better.
Have some patience for a change.

People aren’t frustrated it’s not coming out. They are frustrated because you said it’s coming out soon, for more than a month or so.
You should have just taken your time and announced it to be a July release and most people would have shut up, regardless of the fact that you might finish it sooner.
The prediction in my last post may just be fulfilled (this will be a June release).
May 28th, 2007 at 2:25 am
Thanks you guys for the hardwork, We need it!!!
May 28th, 2007 at 4:17 am
@aw4t: ads and donations cover our monthly hosting costs. I personally do not handle any of that I am just in charge of orders. I think it’s rude to say the site is “plastered” also, one strip of ads per page is A LOT better than many other sites. Try going to cnn.com or weather.com, now those sites are plastered with ads.
Do you wish to make any other stupid comments that are shot down by logic??
May 28th, 2007 at 4:35 am
Thanks a lot guys for all your hard work. It’s a pitty though you guys have to deal with immature kids making replies here. You guys have saved me endless hours i can’t begin to tell you how many and your work is so very much appreciated. Thanks again.
May 28th, 2007 at 6:05 am
I’m patiently waiting for the latest autopatcher. I’ve only recently found out about your work and my gratitude at what you achieve is immense.
I don’t use bit torrents, I’m a limewire person.
When its released I guess it will be okay to share it there?

I do on-site tech support and AP saves me hours every time I have to do a rebuild. It also saved my but when a .Net update screwed a customer’s computer. You guys are doing great and I would wait till July if I had to for the new release. I don’t see what you other bitches are crying about.
May 28th, 2007 at 8:35 am
SteelTrepid : show me the balance sheets if you want to speak logic.
I’m so glad there will be time for a “little bit of testing” after writing all these “very complicated scripts”. I can’t wait until this is released and crashes everyone’s system. People will love paying for a CD that does that, that’s for sure.
May 28th, 2007 at 8:50 am
If people don’t want to pay for it, they can simply download it (like me). Why shouldn’t they charge for CDs of this stuff? It takes time to burn them (sure, not much but it counts) it also puts wear on their burners. They may make a little money, but not enough to live off of I’m sure.
May 28th, 2007 at 9:08 am
@Iced Tea:
Regarding complicated scripts… as I mentioned above, anyone can put a bunch of hotfixes in a folder, and slap together a batch file that scripts the install process. It’s easy to do that, if you want, and I even documented how to do it above.
But doing that doesn’t perform any verification of success or failure, it doesn’t validate the order of install to prevent mismatched file versions, and it doesn’t bother checking to see what’s missing or already installed. So, yes, there is a lot of complication to make sure that it doesn’t “crash” systems as you comment on.
If you think you can do better, then by all means do so… I’ve been visiting this site daily for the past month patiently waiting for the AP team’s new release and until yesterday I’ve said nothing. If someone comes out with a better product, then without a doubt people will look at it.
However, I’m sick and tired of scanning down the comments looking for real updates only to see YOU and aw4t pissing and moaning about how the project isn’t being done to YOUR satisfaction. If you paid for a CD/DVD and you’re disappointed… get a refund and move on. Go sit on Windows/Microsoft Update for a while or script it yourself, but seriously, nobody cares about your whining and crying and two-year-old behavior.
May 28th, 2007 at 9:50 am
I’ll be short.
I know that I am not able to do such a project as AutoPatcher, nor will I be able to do it in the nearest future.
I know the project is done, as it was mentioned, on a volunteer’s basis.
And I also know that It’s good.
So, even given my impatience in such things, I am ready to wait for whatever time is needed.
Dixi.

Some people definitely abuse the anonymity of this page.
May 28th, 2007 at 2:11 pm
Hey Guys, cool it. Appreciate what the AP team has done. They have done a great job. Although their new release has taken more time than expected, I am sure it will be worth the wait once it is released.
Remember even MS does not keep to its scheduled releases, and they have thousands of developers in their wings.
Give the AP guys a break, they deserve accolades more than anything else.
Cheers guys, peace.
May 28th, 2007 at 3:24 pm
@ plue
You misunderstood me. Precisely because it’s not easy as A B C they should have taken their time and announced it to be a June/July/August release. That might have stopped this landslide of posts.

Started 6.0 yet Lyndon?

I don’t know of anyone that knows the word “PAITENTLY”, as you so put it.
May 28th, 2007 at 7:53 pm
sorry…. wrote in a hurry. But point came across right I guess.
May 28th, 2007 at 8:58 pm
I personally pray (to my God) every night that it NEVER becomes open source. Open Source is ok for somethings I guess, but I personally have never agreed with it. Please understand also that I DO NOT speak for the AP team on this, I am voicing my personal opinion.
While it’s “goodie goodie” to create something and share it freely to everyone, I can not personally accept that. Anyone that spends 100’s or 1000’s of hours creating something to help everyone, should have the right to have a website for that project and hopefully receive donations from thankful users.
When something is OS, others can make minor changes and make it look like they did all the work. I know most OS people do not operate like that but conartist users are growing at a much larger rate than GOOD users. They then use their slightly modified version and try to capitalize on it. Hell, for example look at the ahole that has “Auto patcher for 98″ on Softpedia. That’s a little different though because that jerk is trying to capitalize on the AutoPatcher name, attempting to be sneaky about it. It’s still BS though.
Security issues are another problem. While I haven’t read much about this…..I know it’s possible. Not all exploits can be found by honest people. Even when MS exploits are found (non Open Source), individuals have attempted to extort MS. In the OS world, bad people will not voice the problem and attempt to rip off honest people.
I’m being a bit extreme, but just trying to prove my point.
May 28th, 2007 at 9:09 pm
Somebody added “W H Y - N O T - O P E N - S O U R C E ?”
to my post! weird! I promise you i didn’t say that. I did say the rest though and thinking about it it would not affect donations would it? And still have a project website.
May 28th, 2007 at 9:09 pm
oh hang on i made a mistake, someone quoted me doh.
May 29th, 2007 at 2:21 am
The crazy thing is, fellow auto patch users, that Microsoft are releasing large updates almost weekly.
The longer the souls at Autopatcher wait, the more up to date the release will be.
May 29th, 2007 at 7:46 am
The last discs I ordered were damaged… (CRC errors)… I still don’t know who I should email for replacements !
May 29th, 2007 at 8:12 am

All good things like a fine wine take time.
Looking forward to the release.
May 29th, 2007 at 2:14 pm
First I must say that I really appreciate all the hard work put into Autopatcher. It has saved me from hours of frustration waiting on the MS update website, especially when doing a cleanup and reinstall for multiple machines. The new features that will be included in this new release are a welcome addition particularly the Office modules. As you can see I am anxious to try out the new Autopatcher 5.6 for XP. So how is that coming along?
May 29th, 2007 at 6:56 pm
@SteelTrepid
Actually autopatcher technically breaks a policy of M$. Technically u r not ment to have mirrors of microsoft content ;)
btw. it was sceduled for tuesday night/wendsday ? well its wednesday now. OMG
can autopatcher team plz add a time zone to an expected date :D. ty
May 29th, 2007 at 7:04 pm
Well said Russ H!
I too am eager to use this release. It has saved me lots of time during the course of repairing multiple computers. For the people who can’t wait, ever looked into the WSUS application offerred by Microsoft?
I’ve been using that for the time being and it seems to be working ok (I still prefer Autopatcher) but hey to each their own i say.
May 29th, 2007 at 7:17 pm
Hey what about a web interface that u can put on a server and access through a web browser similar to WSUS for an easier distribution?
by the way i don’t know about the new version but on the old autopatcher but if you ran it from a network share it would stuff up. Even if ya used it from a mapped network drive. A bug?
And thirdly is there going to be a stand alone version available for third party plug-ins?
Fourthly is there an upgrade program for old unofficial releases or will they just work in the new version?
May 29th, 2007 at 10:10 pm
I love how I am being attacked and asked questions that I cannot answer. Maybe it’s because I’m stupid enough to answer questions and worry that “real” people will be swayed by troll posts.
I will say one LAST time and add more to it……AutoPatcher has been around for almost 4 years now!! Wouldn’t you think that MS would have shut this project down by now? Only sensible people (not trolls) would know that MS will find anything they do not like pretty quickly and have their attorney’s send documents!
@the trolls— F*@^ you!!
@the REAL AP fans/users—thank you for your support! We are here to help YOU.
May 30th, 2007 at 12:07 am
I can’t believe people are complaining….keep up the good work! The Autopatcher team went out of their way to e-mail me asking if I wanted to wait for the new release or an old one. Now that’s customer service.
May 30th, 2007 at 4:27 am
ooooooo….hit a nerve there.
May 30th, 2007 at 5:24 am
Well, it’s wednesday (I’ve checked my calendar) just like their latest (last?) promise, wednesday would be the deadline of publishing the final 5.6 release.
Let’s just wait and see…
May 30th, 2007 at 5:52 am
And it’s wednesday all day until midnight :-) have a little bit of patience for the love of your god

Hmm… Guess what? No files!
May 30th, 2007 at 9:45 am
Oooh, just a little bit more patience… well too bad, I couldn’t download AP from my home though, limited bandwidth ADSL access =(
Well, it seems i’ll just have to wait (another “more patience”… argh!) to download the release in my office then…
BTW, great job for AP team and thank you for all that you guys have done to make our computer safer in faster way…
May 30th, 2007 at 10:04 am
Is it finished? I am still not seeing Auto Patcher 5.6 anywhere! Hope to see it soon…
May 30th, 2007 at 10:35 am
People, wait until the mirroring is done. If you all download from the same mirror and it goes down before the file is spread, there will no longer be a place to download it…
May 30th, 2007 at 10:36 am
Its been around 2 and a half hours since the Kaladis wrote last update - still no May XP seen!!!!
May 30th, 2007 at 10:37 am
hey Kaladis, how much time it would take??
May 30th, 2007 at 10:40 am
Thank you AP team for the helpful release. Props to SteelTrepid, especially, for putting up with comment trolls.
The troll mantra: “Arguing on the Internet is like running in the Special Olympics… even if you win you’re still retarded.”
To those too impatient to wait for the AP links site to update, click through to one of the mirrors to see the available downloads.
Rather than moan about its availability, maybe you can instead help me seed?
May 30th, 2007 at 10:43 am
Adam Says: …you can instead help me seed?
why not? if I’ll be asked, I’m on it.
May 30th, 2007 at 10:44 am
They say that patience is a virtue. It is not as if the updates provided by the Autopatcher utility are not available via other sources. Mircosoft’s website for one :)
It would serve the impatient beggars right if the AP boys took all the negativity to heart and decided that the grief they receive is not worth taking for something they do in their free time.
May 30th, 2007 at 11:32 am
I will be glad to seed for a week or so.
May 30th, 2007 at 11:43 am
If I would get the release (or releases? there are quite many of those torrents destined for XP), I would seed and seed and seed…
May 30th, 2007 at 11:50 am
I’ve downloaded the torrent for the AutoPatcher WinXP May07 ENU core.exe, There are torrents for two addon packs (1 for directx and the other called extras). Do I need those two addon packs as well ? Or everything I need is already in the 305MB autopatcher may 07 full update ? Thanks in advance.
May 30th, 2007 at 11:53 am
@Ubo
I don’t know for sure but I’m guessing the “core” only has MS updates. If you want DirectX, WLM etc, I’m guess you need the addon packs.
May 30th, 2007 at 11:58 am
Thanks Joe. I guess we will soon find out. Anyway apart from Adobe CS3, Autopatcher May 07 is my second most eagerly awaited release this year. Having read, on a daily basis, most of the comments posted here in the last few months, I for one would like to thank the autopatcher team for all their hard work. Cheers.
May 30th, 2007 at 12:00 pm
Er…seed, anyone?
May 30th, 2007 at 12:05 pm
Yeah I too downloaded the torrents and but no seed yet. I have a fast 1 mb a second upload I would be happy to seed.
May 30th, 2007 at 12:05 pm
Core is kind of the old ‘Lite’ with a few extras (shockwave, etc) and the Extras is all the other stuff.
WMP10 is only if you want to install WMP10.
Direct X is for those that want the latest version of Direct X.
No, not yet, we have to wait for Blaze’s authorization.
May 30th, 2007 at 12:07 pm
I see MCE addon here. If I have a common XP Pro, do I need this?
May 30th, 2007 at 12:11 pm
Pantera I would just download all the add ons there only 30 mb each.
May 30th, 2007 at 12:11 pm
Just starting to dl. Will seed for a few days.
Thanks AP team1
May 30th, 2007 at 12:13 pm
@ Pantera: If you don’t have Windows XP Media Center, you won’t need it.
May 30th, 2007 at 12:14 pm
so, guys. go out to drink or with ur girlfriends instead to being here waiting and writing load of bullsh*t about AP and his author… take easy…
May 30th, 2007 at 12:14 pm
Anyway, I will download all the torrents, use the applicable ones and seed =)

1) Beggars can’t be choosers. Just be fortunate that there are people who give us this stuff without asking for a penny.
2) If you can’t wait, go to Microsoft’s site and patch it yourself.
3) If you’ve been bitching, then don’t use this product. That would make you a bit hypocritical.
Good things are worth waiting for. Many thanks to the AP Team.

May 30th, 2007 at 4:35 pm
So it seems a lot of people are already downloading this… but I don’t see any official postings anywhere. Where is the official link posted?
May 30th, 2007 at 4:37 pm
http://torrent.autopatcher5.mirror.ineedhosting.net/mystats.php
How about this?
May 30th, 2007 at 4:40 pm
Well, I’m hesitant to download when the source is some random guy posting that in an anonymous comment.
May 30th, 2007 at 4:50 pm
That’s one of the official BitTorrent trackers. If you look on the ‘Downloads’ page, that’s the tracker linked next to “Torrents by M2Ys4U”. It’s safe.
May 30th, 2007 at 4:58 pm
Click on the “Downloads” link at the top left of this page. The first entry in each windows version is “Torrents by M2Ys4U” Click on any of the links that say “Update” or “Full” to the right (they all go to the same page)
There is your official link.
Same link, trusted path.
May 30th, 2007 at 5:19 pm
William: The link is official, it’s the same one posted for the torrents on the official download page if you wish to double-check :)
May 30th, 2007 at 6:02 pm
William, go to the download page and click the first link you see pointing to “Torrents by M2Ys4U.” The link is indeed what blackbird mentioned.
May 30th, 2007 at 6:02 pm
@William, http://torrent.autopatcher5.mirror.ineedhosting.net/mystats.php is the correct link for the torrents
May 30th, 2007 at 6:30 pm
How much is one months web hosting for autopatcher?
May 30th, 2007 at 7:17 pm
Ok, I was able to get “AutoPatcher WinXP May07 x86 Core”.
I see a number of other ‘addon’ packs here, and I’m a little curious which ones go with WinXP Pro SP2.
“AutoPatcher WinXP MCE2005 May07 Addon”
“AutoPatcher WinXP WMP10 May07 Addon”
“AutoPatcher Extras May07 Addon”
“AutoPatcher DirectX May07 Addon”
What are these? Do I need all 4?
May 30th, 2007 at 7:25 pm
@william
XP WMP10 adds WMP10 updates to the Core XP release. WMP11 is included in the XP Core release however some people (like me) prefer to use WMP10.
XP MCE2005 adds updates to XP MCE 2005 (media center edition) to the XP Core release.
Extras includes a bunch of extra addons and applies to any of the 2k/xp/2k3 Core releases. i haven’t got a list of contents, one will be posted somewhere soon, however if you look at the include lists for the feb07 releases, most things with ‘only in full’ beside them will now be in this addon pack release.
the directx addon pack applies to the 2k/xp/2k3 core releases and add’s the latest directx redistributable.
note that this is updated once every two months. i have split it up into x86 and x64 editions. because the vista and x64 Core releases are currently incompatible with each other and with my releases (will hopefully resolve next month) the x86 version has been blocked from installing on the vista Core release (which includes x86 and x64 updates) and the x64 version has not been released yet (no point).
May 30th, 2007 at 7:30 pm
I see.
I didn’t realize Media Center Edition was really XP-Media Center Edition. I thought it was sort of an edition on its own.
That Media Player 10/11 thing was a bit confusing.. but after you explained that 11 is in the core, I get it now. Why do you stick with 10?
The Direct X redistributable confuses me a bit too–isn’t this just a single-file download, depending on the system? Why redistribute it in torrent format? Isn’t it just easy enough to grab straight from the source?
May 30th, 2007 at 7:53 pm
Thanks for the updated version of AutoPatcher. I remember seeing some mention on your website that this new version 5.6 will also support updating MS Office. Is this function already available or is it still up in the air?
May 30th, 2007 at 8:03 pm
Shaddowwz, we are still working on Office releases. Actually, everything is going quite well — better than I expected. Hopefully we will have Office releases by July. Maybe even earlier.

WHOOOOHOOOOOO!!!!!! its out! :D :D :D
@Lyndon Brown/whoever made addon pack for WMP10
WMP10 is heaps better than WMP11 :D. Its fantastic that you made a addon pack of WMP10 :D
V.Happy
@William
WMP11 removed some feartures of WMP10 and WMP10 (for me).
Also seems to run better when running files off a network (it hangs for 15 sec. for me)
Also torrents reduce network load on a web server.

Keep up the good work! I’ll wait for as long as it takes for such a great product. Just like Blizzard says, “it’s done when it’s done”. Perhaps you should take on the same motto?

MANY MANY thanks to the AP team !
You’re The A-Team ! :-)
Your hard work does not go unnoticed. I have spent many sleepless night myself in attempts to achieve deadlines and I know it could really be a very hard work sometimes… and it always obeys Murphy`s Laws, so the closer you get to a deadline the lower chance you have to achieve it :)
It would have been of much help, though, if once you have uploaded it ,you would have posted a message of it on the front page and not buried in this forum. Also an estimate of a date/time when we would be able to download it from the mirrors could be great - for those of us who don’t have bit torrent.
Thanks again !
Hope to see the mirror links up soon.
May 31st, 2007 at 6:37 am
Thanks for the release! I work in IT at a college with around 800 PC’s that I have to work on all the time, your program makes reloading them SOOO much easier! Thanks guys!
BTW, I’ve already served up over 11GB on the latest torrent :)
May 31st, 2007 at 11:19 am
Well worth the wait.
Thanks for all your hard work.
May 31st, 2007 at 11:32 am
Well, “XP Core is up on Softpedia and 9Down; but the 9Down is busted up into 4 RAR pieces and sends you to to some jerk’s file space on Rapidshare so he can collect points.
I’m on my last torrent, Core, and have left the other 3 completed ones available for seeding … BUT … BiTorrent is finding only 1 - 5 Peers for tese 3 and no uploads ??? Where are all the whinning losers? Pouting I guess…
But I am a VERY happy camper, and for about the 5th time, … hey Autopatcher Guys.. Some of us want to REALLY thank you and let you know that we really appreciate you for all your fine work !!!!
… which often saves our @ss …..
May 31st, 2007 at 11:38 am
So it’s “Miller Time” for you …
..so turn off the whiners and let them rot for a while, and go do what you would have been doing, when you weren’t busting you hump on “5.6″
Having said that, I pity your poor girlfriends, wives, or whatevers for the next few days ………..
May 31st, 2007 at 12:39 pm
Hi I’m seeding all the May release on Azureus but can only seed 2 at a time, which ones should I make priority?
Also first time i used Autopatcher on “Virgin” machine it crashed on disabling SSDP and UPNP services. It’s okay after reboot so far
gonna have used AP three times today already!
How much does it cost to host http://www.autopatcher.com for one month?
May 31st, 2007 at 12:53 pm
@ Bubba Gump: most of us are too young to have wives. I’m 20. But you guessed it. Girlfriends hate AutoPatcher.
@ David McMahon: if you are referring to autopatcher.com, this site does not serve files, so it doesn’t burn a lot of bandwidth. (still for a server which is not a fileserver it’s plenty). Back in the day, autopatcher.com also served the files (back when the XP Full release was 150mb, now its closer to 350mb). Back then it would burn up anything from 3TB to 6TB each month. Such bandwidth beasts are quite costly (even more back then). What we are looking at now is buying 3 shiny new servers and load balance them to shoot for the likes of 6TB/month. We’ll see how that goes.

Don’t know if this was talked about way before you finally launched AP 5.6 WinXP for May 2007 (which I am truly thankful for), but why was the Sun Java installer option removed from this release?
Just wondering about the change that’s all.. Hope the move was just temporary..
But still, keep up will all the good work guys..
May 31st, 2007 at 2:21 pm
^ Sun Java is in the Extra package.
May 31st, 2007 at 2:58 pm
I have Just put all the MAY07 XP Files on emule for you
Thanks for the hard work AP team :)

May 31st, 2007 at 5:18 pm
Ok to use the new MS tool “Change Analysis Diagnostic”
To run the diagnostic tool, click Start, click Run, type statechangediag.exe, and then click OK.
Tried to use it myself but took ages will run it overnight.

AP 5.6 automatically keeps backups. There is no option to not keep backups.
May 31st, 2007 at 7:42 pm
GREAT JOB GUYZ !!!!!!!
By the way, will there b any difference between d soon-to-b mirror version n d current bit torrent version ???
May 31st, 2007 at 8:04 pm
@plue, no difference!
June 2nd, 2007 at 7:32 am
@ kimbob, you need to delete previous autopatcher (5.1 based) releases and start with a clean folder.
June 4th, 2007 at 1:35 pm
Hi guys!
I just got a nice surprise today in the mail from the “Autopatcher Team”. It was the ’shinny new’ V 5.6 DVD (which I had no idea was coming). I had ordered a DVD late in February and got the 5.1 Version (which was of course what was available back then) and was thinking I would order the ‘new’ 5.6 Version when it was available. I donated (back in February) as well as bought the DVD release to do my part to help and support Autopatcher.
I was not worried I had bought the V 5.1 in February, as the $10 for the latest DVD is quite fair IMO.
So, when I received an updated V 5.6 DVD, without even ordering it (they must have decided my first order was so close to the new version coming out that they would send me the new one anyway) I was happily suprised, and blown away by their excellent customer service/commitment.
So, I just hit the “Donate” button and sent $20 by paypal as a ‘thank you’ to the autopatcher team, as I had planned on paying for the 5.6 DVD.
So far there are only two things on ‘the web’ that I pay for (voluntarily), because I feel they are so good a product:
Autopatcher.com and http://www.sky.fm
Both of these websites offer their service for free, but I think it makes good sense to reward (no matter how small the donation) the ‘best’, and I think these two are the best…
June 4th, 2007 at 4:12 pm
Errol, the DVD was just a sign of our appreciation for your support. I remember you had posted a lengthy comment. Now, that was something that would make any developer (I hate using that word on myself) blush. I remember you were excited about what was planned to be a March release. Well, it took much longer than initially thought, but hey, we did it! You can think of the DVD as part of our celebration. I wish I could make it fancy and flashy.
Although I’m probably still considered young by most of the people who post here, I have learned to respect people and appreciate simple gestures.
Now, I’m blushing all over again…
The transition to 5.6 is now complete, but the real celebration will be the Office releases. Mark my word they are not far away, but hey, we have been wrong before! You should expect a CD/DVD when they are done. Just don’t make us blush ;-)
Remember, you have donated much more than money. Words just can’t describe it.

Antonis:
The reason we are ALL here is because you AP Guys can do, & choose to do, something most can’t & I admit I can’t. Our respect for you guys and what do and have done is not diminished a nanometer by the date on your birth certificate. I still wish I was running a software company; I’d hire all you in a New York minute (or heart beat). Skill, brains, motivation, love of what you are doing, and a dedication to a cause larger than any one of us are not common attributes on this planet any longer.
So go ahead and blush if you like; but we still love your product and respect you guys !!!! And I, for one, don’t give a two hoot if you are 16 or 86 …….
