May 2007 releases are finally here!!!
Yes, you heard it right, the releases we have been working on since March are finally complete :)
Anyone who is waiting for CD/DVD orders to be fulfilled, fear not, our sales guy is working his ass off creating the new disk for you and you'll have them real soon!
There are a few things you should be aware of at this time:
1) The Vista and x64 releases are incompatible with each other and with the rest of the releases, so don't install them in the same folder! This will hopefully be resolved in the June 2007 releases.
2) Our download section is under construction, with all the new releases we're creating for all you lucky people it just wasn't cutting it any more, it was getting cluttered so i'm re-designing it. There are links there though pointing to the forum threads where you will find download links.
3) The new documentation and translation packs based on AutoPatcher 5.6 have not yet been created, so as of yet there are no translations.
Anyway, happy downloading, and touch wood it doesn't take me so long next month :p

Ok to use the new MS tool “Change Analysis Diagnostic”
To run the diagnostic tool, click Start, click Run, type statechangediag.exe, and then click OK.
Tried to use it myself but took ages will run it overnight.

Hi there!!!Thanks for the new version…keep up the good work!!!!
My question is maybe a little bit stupit but I
will make it….
So we must put in a separate file the version 5.6 in order to work?
I did that ,but….
When I ‘ve tryed to put the internet explorer 7 in that way and can’t be done……I must say that when I have checked to see if the updates were ok by running again the autopatcher …nothing ….It looks like nothing had been installed!!!!
Then I ‘ve tried to put the new version in the old version’s file but it gives me wrong…..
Can somebody give me the solution?
Thanks

Thank-You to all the AP team especially Lyndon Brown and Antonis who both showed pure strength and professionalism, all the way through.
The new AutoPatcher is brilliant, I hope you all have had time to stop and stand proud of your achievement of this fine product.
Thank-you again and again …

June 1st, 2007 at 10:44 am
Hey guys, congratulations on the finished program. I’m on dial-up so I haven’t completed the download yet. I am sure it’s excellent.
My question is, with the Core, Extras, DirectX, and MCE packages, in what order should these be installed? I understand in the past if I reinstalled XP and then used AP, I would install the Full, then updates, and then run the program. In what order should I proceed with the new formats?
June 1st, 2007 at 10:52 am
Question …
When u say MS Office is included in this release do u mean it is available now or it will soon b available …
Coz i’m runnin auto patcher now and I dun seem to find d updates for MS Office ???
Elighten me :(
June 1st, 2007 at 12:39 pm
@ plue
Antonis has already answered this. MS office updates are in the works and may be available by July or before. The only thing he has not specified is which versions he will cover. I personally think that just Office 2003 & 2007 updates should be sufficient.
June 1st, 2007 at 1:08 pm
nice its finally released ^^
Thank you all from the autopatcher team for your great work :)
June 1st, 2007 at 2:02 pm
Congratulations! I knew you guys could do it. Me impressed! *high fives all around*
June 1st, 2007 at 2:02 pm
@Mr Jones, install the core release first, the other addon packs are all from the same month and so can be installed in any order.
@plue, as Shaddowwz said, MS Office updates are NOT included, we have a new team of people working on office releases. the new releases will be available maybe june, maybe july, no-one knows yet.

Thank you all oh so much!
June 2nd, 2007 at 4:13 am
Excellent work all.
I’d also like to add that it’s typical that most of the people that were regularly berating and giving out about AP and the delays were probably among the first to download it and (if i’m mistaken Which i dont think i am) have not had one word of thanks to give to the team.
These comments show who the real supporters of AP are not those other posts.
It had to be said.
June 2nd, 2007 at 4:58 am
Antoni,
I didn’t know that you were Greek. Great job my friend, great!
Thank you from many many of my friends who used your work.
Bravo
June 2nd, 2007 at 4:00 pm
Yes, Many Many Thanks to all involved and Let’s be clear…. one of the very greatest things about AP is that you can , through using it….
Avoid EVER having to install any of the windows genuine DISadvantage (”wga”) shit on your computer in the first place and yet still have the ability to install all the patches that MATTER , aka , all the REAL security patches that genuinely (ha ha, so NOT funny m$) have a damn thing to do w/ security and not w/ screwing you over for jack SHIT reason.
TO those who have not had a problem w/ the shit (ie ”wga”), good for you, you’re LUCKY.
But IT (”wga”) DOES ~often~ get its rude and insulting claims about people’s computers wrong , and THAT is why you should avoid ever installing it.

@ lyndon Post 29.
My advice for all the ignorant people out there that like complaining. use the phrase “It’ll be ready when it’s ready”
:-)

The latest version stuffed up my PC. Would boot up Windows XP and then produce an hourglass that would not go away. Could not access any programs. Not happy.

@ Icebreaker
And what would that be.
As far as I’m concerned in this particular case an ignorant person is a person that complains constantly and then doesn’t even have the common decency to thank or congratulate the persons involved for all their hard work and success. if you look at all the previous posts relating to the current AP release you’d understand my point in relation to certain people who seem to thinks it’s their right to berate these gifted amateurs over something that they are doing in their spare time.
I’m sorry for flying off the handle but i consider they way that message was written and directed at me highly insulting.
June 4th, 2007 at 4:18 am
IceBreaker, for me the good definition of ignorant is the way you wrote to jim. Thanks for AP release!!!

When I use AP 5.6 on a Win XP SP2 WS, if I check the box to install ALL the MS Windows - Recommended updates, and some of those are in blue indicating they have already been installed, will AP just ignore those and only install the ones that have NOT been installed? Or will it reinstall the blue ones (patches already installed) as well as install the black ones (patches that aren’t installed)?
June 4th, 2007 at 6:50 pm
Does not work. OS language not English. Me unhappy. I waited 3-4-5 months and I have still to wait. You guys made my hate XP. I bought Vista so I do not have to patch the OS. Thanks. For nothing. :|
June 5th, 2007 at 4:45 am
I have installed AP 5.6 Core Release. should i also need to install “MAY EXTRAS” , “WMP10 ADDONS”, DIRECTX10 ADDONS”, etc. and there is no update for microsoft office 2003 on my system. BTW GREAT WORK you people are doing. Thankyou

My XP is in mess after installing 5.6. Can’t even start Autopacher now. Pls. HELP!
?What AutoPatcher was trying to do
It appears that the error occured while AutoPatcher was trying to set folder variables through filesystem.
Where: mdlInitialization.Main()
Error Code: 0×1AD: ActiveX component can’t create object?
June 7th, 2007 at 10:10 am
@Iggy, 0×1AD is hex for 429. if you look in the FAQ, at the bottom in the ‘common problems and solutions’ section you’ll find the answer.
FAQ: http://www.autopatcher.com/faq/
June 7th, 2007 at 12:59 pm
Thank you Lyndon. Unfortunately, FAQ did not help but installing Windows Script 5.6 did.
File Name:WindowsXP-Windows2000-Script56-KB917344-x86-enu.exe
Well, if someone is experiencing the same problem…
Everything is fine now. Thanks for help and great job with AutoPatcher!
June 9th, 2007 at 3:56 am
New MAY 2007 Autopathcer doesn’t contain all the patches like KB886903, KB887472, KB922770, KB929399 and KB931768_xp_IE7. Windows Update detects all this old patches. Sun Java also not in new release. Need some good attention.
June 9th, 2007 at 7:13 am
great work! You should be very proud.
June 9th, 2007 at 9:18 am
@Mustafa, those patches sound like .Net updates and ie7 updates. note that some such updates are hidden until their respective components are installed. i.e. if you run autopatcher a second time after installing ie7, wmp11, and .Net, more updates will be available!
sunjava is now included in the ‘extras’ addon pack.
June 9th, 2007 at 10:07 am
Lyndon Brown, mentioned patches are contains in old Autopatcher Nov+Dec+Jan+Feb and it will not detected by Windows Update tool after installing that but I have checked both old and new MAY 2007 file and found that those patches doesn’t contain in new patcher. Sun Java also not in new pathcer. I am sure that new file has some bug because after installing .NET 3 from new pathcer, Windows Update tool tell me to install it because it is not install properly. While opening http://www.nokia.co.in site in my Opera 9.21 browser, it tell me to install Flash Player!
The old Autopathcer file is good one but new v5.6 has some bug and some patches not install properlly. I have install this new file after clean format of my system and reinstall everything so the problem is not from my side.
I again tell you that new v5.6 need some good attention.
June 9th, 2007 at 10:54 am
^ As Lyndon said, Sun Java it’s in the Extra package.
You have to install Opera before install the plugins.
June 9th, 2007 at 11:56 am
Renato Ribeiro, I have write here my clean installation prosess. I always use this guide for my every clean installation. Every one can use this
01. Install Windows XP SP2
02. Install 7-Zip
03. Install latest DirectX (June 07)
04. Install TV Tuner Driver
05. Install Browser (Opera v9.21 & Mozilla 2.0.0.4)
06. Install Motherborad, Graphics, Sound Driver and Intel application accelerator
07. Install Authorware Plugin for IE & Opera
08. Install Autopatcher XP MAY 2007
09. Install OpenOffice v2.2.1 RC3
10. Install TV Software
11. Install Mobile Utilities (PC Suite and Modem Driver Softwares)
12. Install Adobe Reader v8.1, FastStone Image Viewer v3.2
13. Install WinAmp v5.35
14. Install Movie Players (Real Alternative v1.52 & Quicktime Alternative v1.81, DivX Player 6.6.1 and K-Lite Mega Codec Pack v2.15)
I have latest version of all these written softwares. I always install everything first like DirectX, MB drivers etc before installing Autopatcher XP. Every one check old Autopatcher XP file Nov 06+Dec06+Jan 07+Feb 07 and new MAY 2007 file. The patches I have written here can see you all in new Autopatcher XP?
I am not telling that Autopatcher file is not good. I want to tell everybody that Autopatcher files are all best. It saves my time a lot and update my Windows XP with all the patches and updates instant. I want to tell to the Autopatcher developer that you have missing some patches in new MAY 2007 so please include it in JUNE file and make it complete.
Thank you all and please stop this conversation.
June 11th, 2007 at 9:12 am
thank you man
June 11th, 2007 at 10:31 am
@Mustafa
You are clearly an idiot if thats the order in which you set up your computers!
Why do you not install your drivers immediatly after installing windows? You must do this…
Then you must use autopatcher for a first time.
Install all your programms, then run autopatcher a second time just to be sure!
Also, out of your movie players, you only need k-lite mega codec pack!
The autors of autopatcher have made it perfectly clear where the patches are! Try reading over this post!
June 12th, 2007 at 3:42 am
I am sorry to say but this latest AutoPatcher release contains some minor bugs which could create severe problems in our systems.Ex-
1.Some Updates ,Patches and Tweaks are missing
2.Even after installing all the updates when I restart A.P. It shows that some updates as not installed. This thing repeats again and again.
3.It even shows updates for components that are not installed in your PC and then shows errors during installation.
There are some more bugs and I agree with “MUSTAFA” that this A.P. release require some good attention.
Hope that all the bugs will be removed with subsequent monthly updates.
ANYHOW we should be thankful to A.P. team for providing us all the windows updates free of cost. It saves us from the lengthy process of downloading updates from MICROSOFT again and again.
June 13th, 2007 at 3:26 am
thanks
June 13th, 2007 at 6:56 pm
Regarding the Flash plug-in version 9.0.45.0, IIRC, the one for other browsers than IE has a broken installation procedure.
For those have it working on their Firefox or Opera, chances are they just install the plug-in on top of existing one.
Chances are they also actually still using the old plug-in, not the 9.0.45.0 version, after the installation.
Try to uninstall the old one first and then you install 9.0.45.0; it won’t work on Opera or Firefox (rather, it’s missing).
This is especially valid in a fresh install of Opera and/or Firefox.
But it was only from my experience, so YMMV.
@Mike
Don’t call someone an idiot just because being persistent in pointing an existent problem.
And do try to appreciate his effort to present his problems in English as best as he could.
As fas as I’m concerned, there is NOTHING WRONG with Mustafa’s steps of installation aside from the possibly redundant K-lite Codec Pack.
Yes, I said “possibly” since K-lite has three different packs and not all of them includes a QuickTime Alternative and Real Alternative.
Also, Mustafa could’ve chosen only the ones that he needed from the pack, unlike some “idiots” who just download and install whatever the default installation is (and probably also not knowing K-lite has different packs…).
June 13th, 2007 at 8:19 pm
guys,
can i update my sistem with XP SP2 after installing autopatcher ?
June 14th, 2007 at 1:25 am
I think you should update your system to SP2 first before applying the updates in Autopatcher, not the other way around.
June 14th, 2007 at 2:12 am
brilliant work thanks /what would we do without you?
you deserve an honour and a break.
June 14th, 2007 at 3:36 am
@ sh1leshk4
I am perfectly aware that k-lite has different codec packs, Mustafa said in his post that he installs the Mega Codec pack which includes real and QuickTime alternative, so there is no point what so ever of installing these separately. It just leads to problems.
There is everything wrong with his installation steps; you should always install the latest drivers for your motherboard etc. first. These drivers are critical to optimum performance plus, why on earth would you install programs before installing drivers?
But anyway it’s not for me to criticise, it’s just the way I do it, and I believe most others do it also.
01 Windows XP SP2
02 Drivers
03 Autopatcher
04 Software

June 15th, 2007 at 10:03 am
Mike, I am not calling you an idiot but I have to tell you that you have a little knowledge about every updates available on internet. I like to clarify you about my installation process.
1. I have to install 7-zip first because current AC ‘97 codec v4.0 available in ZIP file so I have to unzip it first so I need good software. I don’t like Windows ZIP utility.
2. I have to install Web browsers first because Autopatcher file install browser plug-in so it need those browsers first.
3. I am not install every time Real and QuickTime Alternative separately but sometime these players updates their software before K-Lite mega codec packs so I hold these software for my satisfaction of latest updates and patch.
4. As I told you that you have little knowledge about latest updates and patches, you have told me to install Autopatcher for second time after installing every program but do this step in you computer.
* unpack all old files of Autopatcher Nov+Dec+Jan+Feb in one folder and new MAY 2007 in other folder and check this patches KB886903, KB887472, KB922770, KB929399 and KB931768_xp_IE7 in both files. You can see these patches in old files but not in new file.
5. I have told everybody that Autopatcher files are all best. Developers are doing a great great job for us. I had told them that only take good attention in making JUNE file.
I want to give you a suggestion Mike. If you have not a good knowledge about software and their updates and patches, then don’t use bed words for anybody but think about their suggestion. OK.
Thank you everyone who support me for my opinion. I want to tell “SORRY” to Autopatcher developer if they hurt about my opinion. You guys doing a great work free of cost for us. New MAY 2007 have some bugs so I tell you about that so you take good attention in making new JUNE file.
June 15th, 2007 at 5:09 pm

> Mustafa said in his post that he installs the Mega Codec
> pack which includes real and QuickTime alternative, so

No, it’s not.
In fact, I prefer it that way.
If I install QuickTime Alternative and Real Alternative independent of the K-lite Codec Pack, then it’s possible to update just the QuickTime Alternative and/or Real Alternative without having to download the whole K-lite Codec Pack when I want to update ONLY QuickTime Alternative and/or Real Alternative.
> There is everything wrong with his installation steps; you
> should always install the latest drivers for your

Because they’re practically independent from each other.
If installing 7-Zip, Opera and/or Firefox hampers the installation of any drivers, then it should be something of a public knowledge by now, shouldn’t it?
> But anyway it’s not for me to criticise, it’s just the way I do
> it, and I believe most others do it also.
Yes, it’s not for you to criticize, so why bother doing it in the first place?
Plus, you even called someone an idiot; that’s something very uncalled for.
Anyway, there’s nothing wrong with your steps either.
Actually they’re the same steps that I’d take if I happen to reformat my system hdd in the future.
But that doesn’t mean it’d give me, you or anyone the right to call someone that doesn’t conform to those steps an idiot, ok? =)

After installing this AutoPatcher, my Windows XP Pro doesn’t start properly anymore. It’s like it gets to show the desktop and it keeps on refreshing it and not able to stop. I tried waiting For it for around 2 hours thinking thAT ‘XP is doing something’ but to no use. Now, I have an unusable PC in my place and thinking of re-installing everyhing!
Nice work Guys!.. BUT, NO THANKS!…
June 22nd, 2007 at 10:07 am
after i patched my xp i have some weird memory leak problems or similar.. i lose the ability to open new windows and tabs when when browsing or to open new apps.. way, way sooner than i ever did previously.. sometimes the window/app will open but without all the menu items or toolbars filled in.. and the rest of the window is empty.. sometimes apps will crash and give an out of memory error. task manager doesnt show anything taking up THAT much memory, i have 1gb. of course might be the patches themselves or even something unrelated, but it did start right after i ran it. probably time to reinstall windows soon
June 26th, 2007 at 4:38 am
found out it’s just internet explorer 6 that got broken. no issues if i don’t run that.

I have a problem… When I run the autopatcher it says:
mdlInitialization.Main()
Error Code: 0×153: Component ‘COMCTL32.OCX’ or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid
I’ve checked it and I have this file but it still shows me this. What can I do to solve it? Please help me…
