Posted by Lyndon Brown on July 4th, 2007 |
Yes, i know it's July :p
After several delays, the June 2007 releases are finally all here! This month (well last month...) we have worked hard to fix compatibility issues between all of our releases, and so from now on you should be able to combine all releases (English at least) with no issues.
you can find links on downloads page
have fun,
Blaze

Hmmm when you update XP you lose the add ons like Firefox and stuff if you had them installed before. And when you add them it makes it unofficial now?
Besides that its still great ^^
July 6th, 2007 at 11:23 am
2 things:
- Can’t get AP XP/2003 x64.
- Why, in the name of… , isn’t there a torrent for it on the ineedhosting tracker?
July 6th, 2007 at 12:57 pm
Thank you all for the great prodct my life is now easier.
July 6th, 2007 at 3:49 pm
Thank you guys for the June 07 update. Keep up the great work. On a separate note what is the status of the MS Office Updates that you were looking into adding. Can we still expect them for the July release or will they be delayed a bit?

hello
July 7th, 2007 at 5:42 pm
It works very very well, but I have questions : 1) Does latest release SP2 includes SP1? 2) How come some programs I would like to install still tell me they need SP2? 3) Reran autopatcher and had items in blue. What does it mean, already installed by autopatcher, or not installed. Don’t know. Thanks. Gzulu
July 7th, 2007 at 8:30 pm
@Gzulu, see your post in the forum!
July 7th, 2007 at 8:31 pm
@Shaddowwz, the Office releases are coming along well, it won’t be too long now!
July 8th, 2007 at 6:50 pm
@laur3ooo: In the past support for x64 releases was minimal on the torrents. This created very inefficient torrents and as such it wasn’t worth it.
However, next release I’ll trial the x64 releases again (along with a new domain name for the tracker!

As for office releases, would you please consider releasing Office 2007 & 2003 and not wait to complete the Neandertal XP, 2000, and I-can’t-believe-U-R-waisting-U-R-precious-time on frikkin’ ‘97, or should I ask when there will be an Autopatcher for Win 3.1.
How ’bout this for a rule, when microsoft drops it, U drop it, or you will not support more than 3 concurrent releases of the same product. With x86 & x64 and 5 variants of Vista @ x2 of each, thats 10products JUST for ONE operating system.
U R brains are too valuable to be frikkin’ around with bullshit like “Whaaaa, I want BSD included”, or ‘97, or 2000 ………………

Hi,guys, is it only me or ? I get this message- WinXP May 2007 x86 ENU … Missing
I have the 5.6.0.72 version of autopatcher and am trying to install the june updates. Please help- for direct contact-my email is bgboy@ananzi.co.za
July 9th, 2007 at 4:15 am
^ You have to decompress the Update file to the same folder were you have May’s files.
July 9th, 2007 at 9:58 am
Is it possible for the update’s installer to just auto detect the previous (full) version’s installation folder from the registry (or any other source)?
It probably already does that, but just don’t show the folder choosing window.
Whenever installing an update, the only options available should only be agreeing to T&Cs and EULAs, and the options to add/remove shortcuts plus the “run-after-installation-is-closed” option.
That is so (new) users won’t be too confused when they’re asked to choose which folder to install the update when they don’t have to (since choosing a different one just breaks AP anyway).
July 9th, 2007 at 1:38 pm
@Bubba Gump, we’re not wasting time with the 97 version, we are trying to support the 2000 version though.
thats not whats causing the delay though. we’re still in catchup mode from the switch to version 5.6. the office releases are nearing completion though (afaik).
@Evo, as Gandolas said, to install the update release you must have the core release installed first and you must install to the same folder
@sh1leshk4. due to autopatcher being portable and the ability for the user to have multiple copies of autopatcher installed to different folders, it would definitely not be a good idea to skip the dir selection page.
July 9th, 2007 at 5:29 pm
I’m also having the “WinXP May 2007 x86 ENU … Missing” issue. I installed the 5.6 core when it came out, and never uninstalled it. The AutoPatcher folder still contains ~386MB.
July 9th, 2007 at 6:09 pm
@uzig, it’s more difficult to provide support here, it would be best if you posted for help in the forum.
check that you have xp_x86_enu.rti and xp_x86_enu.ver in the folder you installed to, and tell me what the contents of the .ver file say.

Then it should have something of a notice to install the update to the same folder as the previous/Full/Core version.
Anyway, does the Finish button always prompt for a restart?
Or does it check whether an update needs a restart or not?
Seems like the “only way” to ‘Restart Later’ is to click Exit or canceling the restart countdown halfway.
July 10th, 2007 at 4:09 am
^ No, the finish button only restarts the computer if one or more installed modules require that. I always click Exit.
July 11th, 2007 at 4:20 pm
With all the rising interestin AP’s Office progress, Why not set up a Forum at least during the development phase so all Office info can be in one place. If it exists, I can’t find it.
Thank you.

@Renato
> No, the finish button only restarts the computer if one or more

I just had this funny feeling that it’d always asking for a restart no matter what I chose to install/uninstall. =b
Anyway, interface speaking, how about removing the ‘Exit’ button and just leaving only the ‘About’ and ‘Finish’ button?
The ‘About’ button should stay in the same place, though, leaving blank spaces where the ‘Exit’ button should be.
Therefore, users can just click ‘Finish’ and if there’s really a need for a restart, it’ll have the countdown; otherwise it’ll just close AP.
And in the countdown, the buttons should stay the same but the ‘Exit’ buttton is re-labeled to ‘Reboot Later’.

July 19th, 2007 at 10:07 pm

Thank you.

You need to be posting these types of questions in the forums.
Yes this is typical for now until we reach our next release =)
