"Maybe I'm doing this wrong, but when I try to run apup.exe, it just says "Missing Files". Doesn't say which ones, just a blank message and nothing happens. I have the newest core of Autopatcher installed and the newest version of apup.exe. What can I do to fix this?"
Please help. I have no idea what to do to fix this.

That, or you only extracted apup.exe.
You need to extract everything in the .zip file.

Nope, it's neither of those. 1. Installed the VB update, same message. 2. I know how to extract a zip file, everything has been extracted.
I figured it out myself. Took too long for an answer. Thanks anyways.

i've updated the files and added some verbose to wget, too. here the link
updated apupMod
ps: now apup.exe starts with /log switch at the end of download process
pps: i don't check for apup.exe existence so always select apup script!!
Seriously apup stalls every 30s for me, you saved me soooooo much pain.

my script is intended to help people downloading the whole set of patches starting from 0, making the process (mbs or even gbs of data) painless. further updates should be done using only apup, because the script doesn't provide advanced checks about already downloaded patches. if you run again the script after apup, it will re-download things that eg have been moved or renamed and at next apup run, it will move/delete/rename them again... a waste of bandwidth ;P
(of course it will download new patches too if there are some, but as i've written before it isn't recommended)
so the script, at the end of the process, provides you with a folder called apup containing apup.exe, autopatcher.exe and the patches you have selected. that one is your "root folder"

3 Things Checked, runs for less than a minute then hangs. Sometimes you can exit and start again, till it hangs again, and it will in short time.
AutoPatcher Updater 1.0.3
Autopatcher Engine 5.6.81
AutoPatcher for Windows XP (x86) - Beta v3.63
Hope you guys get this program straightened out , I really miss Autopatcher.

Edit: apup.exe v1.0.4 worked perfect, not one stop during downloading.

guess what, i am having the same problem right now, double clicking apup.exe just makes it say 'missing files' ... some help could be nice!
i know for sure that the 'missing files' does not refer to extracted 2007 autopatcher files in the same directory as apup.exe because ive just tried that and it makes no difference
::edit:: extract the files by preserving the directory structure, there should be a directory called 'apup_bin' which contains everything but apup.exe
