Which version of AutoPatcher script are you using?

Run apup.exe /log and then post here the txt file.

I think the file version 1.0.0.1.

Here is what was in the log file:

I've seen some major improvement from my end. I re-downloaded APUP, and I have been able to download all the modules now. I had to restart the program about 17 times, but it finally finished.

Hope that helps.

Having to relaunch APUP is something that will be addressed in a coming version but it sounds like you are good to go

I'd rather post my question here, instead of the announcement thread:

Upon downloading updates by apup. I got a notification that the verification of one update failed. How can I find out which update it's talking about... (so i could delete and let apup download a new one)?

Run apup with a /log flag. Something like "c:\.....\.....\apup.exe" /log. After you run an update, a apup.txt file is created. If you look over the first part of the log, you will notice things like "MD5 Hash matches..." You will be looking either for a "file does not exist!" or a "MD5 Hashes do NOT match," this will tell us what is wrong. If you can't find it, go ahead and post your log in a txt file to this forum for us to look at.

Yes I have the same problem and the cause is in fact the autopatcher engine is not being unziped. I tried to run with the log switch but it did not show what the error was after researching some more I looked at the apengine.script and noticed that the apengine_exe.zip was not being unziped and then deleted. I also found that the other files that need to be unziped apengine_lng.zip, apengine_bin.zip, are also not being unziped they are being download just fine if you manual unzip them in the directory they are in and run apup with out the engine selected all will be fine. :o

^ Make sure you have the latest version of the file apup.exe. The unzip error was fixed in the latest version.

I'll try to help out. I just downloaded the latest Nov27th release. I have a folder on my Desktop that I use for running APUP. I didn't do this from scratch as I've already downloaded all the files from a previous build but is about a month old now. Not sure if that will make any difference though. I ran APUP from a shortcut using the /log switch. It started downloading but finally got the Run Time error. Here is my log file: It's long though. Windows XP, Engine and Office XP is all I had selected.

Actually before I post would you rather I post the whole log here in text or the file itself? That way your authors can download and look at it rather than having a huge long thread post.

The text file would be better if you can, if not then obviously you would have to make a large post.

Wanted to give everybody a heads up. A new release of APUP will be out in a day or so. Hopefully this one will fix some of the errors that we have been receiving

Just a suggestion.

I'd like to have a shell that automatically downloads the latest version of APUP.exe and then runs it. That way everyone would be running the most up-to-date version without having to find the most up-to-date link every time they run the program.

Thank you for all your work.

I don't know if this helps but I just tried running APUP.exe on a home machine, and as soon as it starts, I get a Run Time 0 error. I did not receive these errors on my work workstation, but it had a new install of XP.

Are you running version 1.0.3, just released today or do you have anolder version? The latest version can be downloaded at http://www.autopatch...engine/apup.zip

Thanks. Didn't know there was a new version. Do they have an announcements page where I can follow the development and release?

I downloaded the new version and tried running it, but I received an error on startup:

Run-time error '372':
Failed to load control "ctlwinsckdownloader' from . Your version of may be outdated. Make sure you are using the version of the control that was provided with your application.

When I tried starting it again, it came right up without any problems.

That's a new error, Antonis may need to take a look. Anyway, there is now a list in apup which lets you download the latest version, so just keep an eye one the date on the first line when you launch apup.

i've also had this error before. Its only when you start a clean install, or a new install folder, but when you start apup.exe again it works fine.

Run-time error '372':
