well it seems the auto patcher engine isn't being extracted properly after being downloaded.. all i would get is a "autopatcher_exe.cab" in the folder so i guess its just not completely downloading properly.. had to revert back to the older one to download

You will notice you also have the folders bin and translations downloaded. These contain, respectively
apengine_bin.cab and apengine_lng.cab., which are the other files for the Autopatcher app.

I found that I had to manually extract the files from those two cab files (each in its own folder) using winzip or similar. I also had to manually extract autopatcher.exe from the downloaded apengine_exe.cab. With all the files extracted, double clicking on Autopatcher.exe starts the app.

It may be that the manual extraction was necessary at this stage because apup ran into the runtime error (see other thread) while downloading the XP updates.

It worked fine for me, so I would ask Renato or Antonis about it.

it even gives the runtime error when just downloading the autopatcher files and nothing elce
i think its the programe itself in how it fetches the files :blink:

I never had that error, so Antonis is the right person to answer.
