you don't have the same issue. you have this: ctlwinsckdownloader, that means that apup is being blocked and is unable to download the updates. since you can reach the script, there's a few possible possible issues:
- the patch is too long. just try move apup to an shorter path, like c:\apup;
- some sort of virus is preventing you from reach ms download sites

you may try a few online engines to check your system, if you wish:

I'm having that same issue. I got an Application Error that reads:

Subscript out of range
inprjUpdater.mdlDownloader.processDownloadQueue at line 100

and 2 Verification Failed boxes:

One or more files has failed verification. Please re-run AutoPatcher Updater
If this problem persists, please report to the forums at AutoPatcher.com

How do I correct this or what else can I do? I went to the downloads page here and got the file to download and used Winrar to unpack it. I would appreciate help with this as soon as possible.

there's 2 updates that was replaced yesterday and i'm not sure if all the scrips was already updated to match and this may be the cause, since ms has removed the previews version from his servers and this may return those error messages that you have. but to be more clear, can you hit the file hit_this_to_generate_a_log_file_for_apup.cmd or run apup with the /log argument and post the content of the .log file in here?

thanks

I have no clue what that meant, lol. I will try to do it again and try to see what else I see and post it up. I would like to get this figured out relatively soon, if not today! I will make another post in a few after I try the .exe install again

Hi WhiteFeatherXM-3...

What Cristiano is saying is that you have 2 separate issues.

->Subscript out of range
This usually is a result of your firewall interfering with APUP. If you could report back what firewall you are using.

->Files Verification Failed
This will be a regular issue only because Microsoft along with every other software manufacturer updates their
applications, or with regard to Microsoft, they release new updates that overwrite old ones so links need to be updated
and files need to be replaced - not to worry here, wait until the script gets updated and then re-run apup.exe to remove
the old file and download the new one.

->hit_this_to_generate_a_log_file_for_apup.cmd
This means to create a log file to see exactly what is going on with regard to your AutoPatcher release. You can also run
apup.exe /log to create a log file. However you create a log file, get used to having the most recent available to troubleshoot
any issues you may be having.

THanks Mike, the only firewal i'm aware of is the one in the 60 day norton internet security that was preinstalled on this cpu. I just got this cpu and was unable to run dual OSs with my old version of XP Pro. This site was suggested to me to fix another issue I had with one of my programs. I just ran it again with no firewall and got same message. I can't find anything about hit_this... I guess I need to wait a few days and see if there is an update you guys can come up with to fix this?

First things first...

You need to run apup.exe /log to create a log file and post the results so we can have a look.

When APUP runs, 3 boxes should be selected by default, Autopatcher Updater, AutoPatcher Engine, and the native OS that
APUP is run from - Now, you are in the Vista section of the forums but you mention XP Pro, so if you want to create a Vista
release you will want to "uncheck" Windows XP SP3 and "check" Vista x86. This may seem trivial but APUP's default behavior
trips some people up. All 3 selections are critical to have a functional AutoPatcher release.

After you run APUP and the download finishes, you should have a "hit_this...cmd" file in your main folder. If you run APUP with
the switch I mention "/log" you will create a log file, I'm just letting you know where the hit_this file comes from and where you
can find it.

Quote

This site was suggested to me to fix another issue I had with one of my programs
What program is this?

Anyway..., re-run apup.exe /log, try to download as much of the release you are trying to get, when done, post
your log file and we'll go from there.

ok I just opened apup.exe and AutoPatcher Updater 1.0.5, AP Engine 5.6.81, and AP for Windows Vista SP1/2008. I am running Vista Home 64bit, I just got the cpu last month. The other program does not matter at this point tho, I do know that much, I just know that it was compatible with XP and I was just gonna run 2 OSs. How do I run a log other than when I run the .exe file? Cause it never goes to that point, it finished downloading and then I get the aforementioned errors and the only thing I can do is click finished. I was unable to install xp, so this was my only other chance to do the work that i need done creating back up discs. I'm also hoping that it will fix the issue of my webcam not working with Vista as well.

please, right-click this link and save it at apup folder. then, run that file. this will generate the log

> my webcam not working with Vista as well

Also WhiteFeatherXM-3,

You didn't mention initially you are running Vista x64, and the 2 scripts referenced in this post where Vista x86, so I had said to select
Vista x86 in APUP - I hope you ignored this and selected your OS?

Also, so we are on the same page, and talking about the same things, here's a little info - please take note.

...APUP (apup.exe) aka AutoPatcher Updater
APUP is the program that connects to the internet, will download and manage your AutoPatcher release. I have been referring to APUP
as AutoPatcher's Agent (this is my language and not official).

When you get errors like "failed verification" or "Subscript out of range" this is an APUP (apup.exe) issue.

...AutoPatcher (autopatcher.exe) aka AP Engine 5.6.81
Autopatcher is the program that installs the updates/hotfixes to your computer. It doesn't need an internet connection. It does, however,
require a release or module (the sum total of all the files apup.exe downloaded) also referred to as an OS package ie: "AP for Windows
Vista SP1/2008" or it wont know what to do when you run it. There are other release packages other than OS related ie: Java, .Net, etc.

I would read the APUP and AutoPatcher FAQs ( the link is in my sig).

Mike :)
