Hi guys,

I read a thread earlier that Renato stated that he had removed the August script.
I am still seing this in the apup window??

Should it not just display the October script file?

Regards.

Delete all the scripts present in apup folder.

You can see it because right now, apup just deletes and updates the scripts that it sees in the server. If you have an older script that is not present anymore in the server, it doesn't delete it. It may be a thing to be fixed.

Only for 'official' scripts, I'd say - so people can write their own unofficial scripts.

Hmm, I dont have a November script in my list of English scripts in apup, i only have 20 Aug 2007 & 26 Oct 2007 ??
I get this error when fetching KB890830-v1.32 from the 20 Aug 2007 script!

You are only supposed to have one English version: November 2007.

Here is what I have and what everyone should have:

Hi Renato,

Ok, something really strange is happening here....

I deleted EVERYTHING and started again from scratch. When i ran apup again from the beginning i noticed again that the two scripts Aug 2007 and Oct 2007 were appearing in apup.

I then decided to try and run apup on a completely different computer, and low and behold, Nov 2007 is now appearing in the list ???

Can you guys tell me what is going on here?? Is there a file that has been cached some where else on my computer?

I would really appreciate some advice here guys!

Thanks very much.

Regards.

In the folder from which you run apup.exe delete any .script files which may exist. If you are running Vista, delete their ghost backups as well. I can't think of anything else that would cause your problem.

Hi Cyrus,

Yes i tried that! but still does not work. I even created another directory on my computer and started from scratch.
And it still does not display the Nov 2007! Something is definitely being cached some where!

Oh well if i have to reinstall windows xp some time, so be it <_<

Perhaps Renato or Antonis could tell us if apup.exe creates temp files somewhere or uses registry entries to save settings.

I don't think so, but only Antonis can answer that.

Anyone still seeing old scripts?

Why doesn't apup delete all scripts and list files when it is closed? It needs to download them anyway to check for updates so what's the point of leaving them behind?

Keep in mind that this is an extremely early beta release, and there is still a long to-do list. I'm sure that the final version will fix that problem.

Antonis told me that APUP doesn't use temp files nor writes anything tho the registry, unless some script says it. Right now, they don't.
