Hi, I have autopatcher setup on a virtual machine and have downloaded the 2 needed files. Now when i try to run autopatcher for the first time i get an error stating "Error fetching release list" and no updates are displayed. I am trying to download updates for Windows Server 2003 R2 - can somebody tell me what is happening and how to fix this error. Thanks

this means that apup is beein blocked in some way, probably by your firewall (there's a few tips about some in our faq) or even some proxy.

apup uses only the default port to download, that basically means only port 80. but there's an huge issue: apup doesn't handle proxy. some firewalls must have specific configurations in order to apup works. if you need, we can help you with that, but we need the firewall name

I don't have access to our proxy to do any updates to access list etc. But i could ask if they can be done. Is there another way to bypass the proxy altogether by going out via another port?

the only way to do that through apup is by an direct connection, without proxy. but some time ago, an user from this forum has developed an alternative solution for that, that he called apup mod. we don't endorse that, but if you wanna try, it shall pass through firewalls without any issues

yes, i do. i've saved that link to take a closer look, but i didn't that. you can download the files from here:
http://rapidshare.de...apupMod.7z.html

it's zipped with 7zip. those files was tested against viruses every single day since it was downloaded, so, i believe that this ones shall be clean.

now, i really need go to bed. i was required to take an shot to prevent "yellow fever" and i'm feeling dizzy (and they said that this could happen only in 4-5 days...). we don't us to have that in here, but due the global warming, now we may have that issue in here <_<

Go to bed and take a warm women... or two. We are travelling to Peru in July and have to take "yellow fever" shots before we go - but i guess the disease is worse than the cure - in this case.

Thanks for your help

from rapidshare? no, there's no need to pay for downloads in there. just check the free button and wait for the countdown finish. anyway, you also can download it from here: http://w15.easy-shar...1903338040.html
