Needed features

1st feature...Example 1:
I can download a hotfix or update via 1 of several MS update/download sites/servers by clicking their 'download' button. But on the odd occasion my connection to the download is reset; which is not too bad because I know that so long as I do not close Internet Explorer, I can go to the same download page and click 'download' again, and it will resume downloading from where it left off. Apup neeeds such a feature as this.
2nd feature...Example 2:
There are numerouse programs such as nlite, vlite, ryanvm, that allow one to slipstream the updates to either a windows install folder ie i386 folder, and/or into a genuine Windows cd or dvd install image. I would pay for apup if it had this feature added to it. It would then replace my 6 different programs that I have paid for and use to do this task with the abilities apup already has.

apup has it, but for full file only. the md5 for the files was broking each time that we tried an proper resume option. you only need run apup again and pick the same script

autopatcher has that feature, but this doesn't work for all modules, because some updates require some tricks to work properly. but an warning: slipstreaming just the critical updates into an windows sp3 makes it goes beyond 700 mb (this will not fit into an cdr image)

I realise that apup will remember which updates it has already finished downloading and when apup is run 2nd time it will start downloading a new update that it has not downloaded yet, but I do not believe that it 'resumes' a file download.
Even selecting the same script/tick option in the list, it does not 'resume' downloading the file that the download connection was reset, in previous run of apup. ie if apup has downloaded 39% of an update, and the download route/connection has been reset ie when you get the error 'connection has been reset' dialog, when you click ok apup dos not reestablish the connection like IE internet explorer does, and you have to clik finish or exit and I have to run apup again, select the same script/option, which then apup restarts the download again ie the same file, but it restarts the download again.
When you download the files via MS download site, and you get the 'connection has been reset' dialog box, all i have to do is go to the same download page click download and IE instantly continues downloading from where it left off previously.

I repeat: When I start downloading an update ie Office 2003 Service Pack 1 that is 200mb download, but for whatever reason I got a 'connection has been reset' error dialogue box, but when I clicked on the link to restart the download, Internet Explorer continued downloading the update from where it left off. ie before reset it had download 39%, and upon clicking same download link after getting error, Internet Explorer resumed the download from where it left off.
I repeat: Apup needs such as a feature as this.

that is file resume, an feature that is present in many browsers, download managers and download accelerators. an common mistake that the people do is think in apup also an download accelerator or download manager.

just to make easy to understand:
- resume by file: when you have an issue in the midle of an file, resume by file will resume the download at that point;
- resume by job: a dozen of files may be downloaded and if an issue in the 99 file from a list of 100 that are being downloaded, after you choose the same job again, you will not have to download 100 files, just the ones that are missing. because of that, i've said that this is a kind of resume and also that is the way that apup works.
we tried once add an resume by file in apup, but we don't have enough skills to make that works fine and every single time that the download was broken, the file was corrupted at the end of the job. because of that, we didn't added that

we don't disagree of that, but also we said, we don't have enough skills in VB6 to that. also, find someone skilled in VB6 that is willing to work for free isn't easy. and that probably be the very reason why this feature is missing since long time ago
