I'm getting a slew of md5 hash failures, missing files, "file size does not match" etc errors.
Log file is too big to include in forum (127KB!) - I don't know what I can cut out, so i've tossed it onto mega-upload: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=PY2BCAOR
MD5 hashes failing, file size discrepencies, etc.

Hi Daemonworks...
Have a look at the APUP FAQ (from my sig) and see if changing from Japanese to English will help.
The instructions are near the bottom of the FAQ.
->Q: I have my computer set to display a Far Eastern language on-screen and APUP doesn't work
Give this a try.
Mike

Switching the non-unicode language over to english did fix it... though why that would throw off all the MD5s and cause the downloaded files to be the wrong size is totally alien to me.
Is there some reason for the non-unicode language setting to get in the way? It's not the main system language setting (though some programers act as though it is, making some program installations very annoying, given my limited Japanese)
It's going to be really annoying to run apup, given that I have to reboot each time I want to change the setting.
