I am using Autopatcher on a clean install and at the end of the download process, had this error. I retried and got the same error several times and compared the log files.. they are the same every time.

i've updated autopatcher_off_addon_enu.script to math the new md5 and file size for OPUC4.CAB. i've also edited the module offupdate_enu.apm to math with the new detection given by the new version of OPUC4.CAB

also an remind, i don't run any version of MSOffice (i'm running BrOffice/OpenOffice since a couple of years ago. and, by the way, there's an new version :) ) so i can't fully test if the module and detection works, but since this detection is based in the md5 for an file that i was able to extract, everything shall be ok. if not, please report.

also i was unable to test this module (and also because i don't have this script fully downloaded at my pc) i'm currently unable to sign the script, so yours may see an "unofficial" tag at the right corner. but because of that failed verification, that same message was in there

Minor fix needed on the Office Addon script.

Detection error for file \OfficeAddons\offupdate_enu.apm_files\InstOUIE.inf
MD5 Hashes do NOT match.
Expecting f17fc805dedfd99b867f346b9743b40d
but found ef90ad9b7be4f54912363ec0dc1bcd40

It seems the Expected hash is the same as this apm:
DetectFile=autopatcher:\modules\OfficeAddons\offupdate_enu.apm
DetectHash=f17fc805dedfd99b867f346b9743b40d

So, if "InstOUIE.inf" is not being replaced this is the correct hash:
Correct Hash: ef90ad9b7be4f54912363ec0dc1bcd40

While I didn't get the failed verification error, thought you might still want to see the log:

Ran the updated thrice and the logs were the same as above. Am I missing something or does it keep downloading the same things without any errors?

Minor fix needed on the Extras script.

There seems to be a conflict between the shockwave.apm files.

The autopatcher_extras_0812a.script: Still points to the "old" apm that references
->Title=Adobe Shockwave Player 11.0.3.471
-> old shockwave.apm hash: 0f08fd605b484bddf7c3343cd5ac4b25

The windows_extras_0812.7z: Has the "new" apm that references
->Title=Adobe Shockwave Player 11.0.3.472
-> new shockwave.apm hash: 968b79e484367cd734cbe04dc8c4ce77

I got no errors when updating my extras module because the script was fine with using the old apm
and just downloading the new installer. In a new download the conflict seems to arise when both the
new installer and apm are downloaded and the hashes don't match for the apm.

I couldn't be sure that the latest shockwave installer was downloaded, the version info from the "exe"
only shows version 11.

it is. the md5 for the latest version is 64ff5041ad5af975995e6e4e2da3296b and we choose an permanent link to this one. so, each time that this one is updated, we see an "md5 doesn't match"

I'm still getting this even after multiple tries:

***Starting Detection Routine Phase***

Missing file C:\Downloads\Autopatcher\modules\oga\offaddons_oga\OGACheckControl.dll
Missing file C:\Downloads\Autopatcher\modules\oga\offaddons_oga\OGAControl.inf
  Item Office Genuine Advantage is missing. Adding its download to the queue.
  --Adding http://download.microsoft.com/download/e/4/9/e494c802-dd90-4c6b-a074-469358f075a6/OGAControl.cab--

***Downloading Releases***

During the update routine, you see Autopatcher downloading the files but at the end of it, the directories still don't have the relevant files. I then deleted the modules\oga\ directory and re-ran the update:

***Starting Detection Routine Phase***

Missing file C:\Downloads\Autopatcher\modules\oga\offaddons_oga_enu.apm
Missing file C:\Downloads\Autopatcher\modules\oga\offaddons_oga\InstOGAV_enu.inf
  Item AutoPatcher Office OGA Module is missing. Adding its download to the queue.
  --Adding http://www.autopatcher.com/releases/modules/office_oga.7z--

Missing file C:\Downloads\Autopatcher\modules\oga\offaddons_oga\OGACheckControl.dll
Missing file C:\Downloads\Autopatcher\modules\oga\offaddons_oga\OGAControl.inf
  Item Office Genuine Advantage is missing. Adding its download to the queue.
  --Adding http://download.microsoft.com/download/e/4/9/e494c802-dd90-4c6b-a074-469358f075a6/OGAControl.cab--

***Downloading Releases***

The first two files download and are in the directory... but the OGACheckControl.dll and OGAControl.inf are still elusive. Is any one else experiencing this?

> Is any one else experiencing this?
thanks to your warning, i did an test with an customized version for this script, that had only those 2 downloads. after several tests, i've realized that this issue was due an invalid command-line for the .cab extraction, like you can see at the end of the script, because you are missing this:
Extracting D:\temp\temp_bin\OGAControl.cab into D:\temp\modules\oga\offaddons_oga

so, i've updated this script again, to fix this download/extraction.

again, thanks for your warning :)

Yikes!

What AutoPatcher was trying to do
It appears that the error occured while AutoPatcher was trying to get a file's MD5 hash.

Where: mdlReleaseIntegrity.getMD5HashFromFile()
Error Code: 0x3E: Input past end of file

here goes the bug on rti generator that james has reported some time ago... if you load the previews rti file to generate a new one and this one becomes smaller than the previews one, you may have trouble. nice, very nice...

rti file generated from scratch and uploaded again

sorry

yes. too many people complaining about that (put your favorite bad-word in here) false-positive in uz.exe. we don't need this file anymore, except for bother ourselves with complains about false-positive over obsolete files...

Comes with a few years of experience. I actually hadn't used Autopatcher in a few years... used to use way back in the days but now its more complex.
