 Hi from Bill in Auckland, New Zealand, and wow what a fantastic site this is.

Could one of you super experts please help a novice, and supply me with an Autopatcher CD for Service Pack 3, and the next CD for SP3 to date, because I'm not expert enough to build my own, though I have tried, and my expert friend went to Australia over a year ago. I have XP SP2 setup disc for my OS, and my email address is billwestauck.nz@gmail.com.

Every tech I have spoken to about the Autopatcher, has got really upset, and never spoken to me again, apparently they just blindly, dump everything in that MS give them, and to hell with the consequences for the customer.

Regards Bill.

i'm sorry pal, but since ms cease and desist, we can't offer cds or any kind of media with ms products inside (and that includes updates).

but run apup isn't hard. you only need download apup through our download page, extract in a short patch (like c:\apup), run it and made your selections. after that, just wait and at the end, you will have autopatcher with all updates, as usual

I have XP SP2

You will want to get SP3 directly from Microsoft.

This is the installer most of us use. :)

 Hi Cristiano, I do not understand what your talking about, please read my post carefully, so you understand my situation. If someone wishes to give me an autopatcher, and I pay their expenses for the blank CD and postage, then it is quite legal. :P Regards Bill.

Hi Bill...

In a nutshell, what Cristiano is saying is it is illegal to do what you are asking.

Microsoft put a stop to the previous AutoPatcher setup which was a single executable that
contained all the updates, and the ability for AutoPatcher.com to offer the file on CD.

Microsoft has no problem with using AutoPatcher to (if you will) chain all the updates and
perform the installation, but the user must download "ALL" Microsoft related files "Directly"
from Microsoft.com - this is the reason for the creation of "APUP".

So...,

If you want/need to create an "AutoPatcher Release" for your XP SP2 machine, you will need
to download and create the package using APUP (apup.exe).

I'm not sure exactly the problems your "tech" friends have with AutoPatcher - it is perfectly
ethical and legal, and simply easier to use than WU/MU. They sound like pompous A-Holes if
you want my opinion.

Regards Bill.
All Tech's employed by MS are limited on their response, especially about AutoPatcher, any other Tech's have their own opinion and knowledge , and some are just dorks.

If you just need a copy of the SP3 version update you can do it 2 ways, Auto update (in your Windows XP {x86} system) or as Mike posted SP3 and download and install, or this one SP3-Iso and Burn (ISO image to CD) or mount (on Virtual CD) and install.

Bill,

I have read your post more than once and carefully and I must admit, if we haven't helped
you at this point I have no idea what you are looking for.

Mike

I wanted to add , in line with Larry's post below, that no one from AutoPatcher.com or the
(AutoPatcher forums) can offer anything on CD/DVD, you will need to download whatever
it is you need on your own.

I'm sure help will be available if you have more questions about AutoPatcher or APUP.

Hi BiL3
The best I can tell you about your Request is this;
For the AutoPatcher for Windows XP SP3 all you need to do is create a folder (best location is on a root drive, like C:\AutoPatcher_XP)
then download the Updater file (click on the word Updater, it is a link to the file) and Save As.. to the folder you created.

Next, After Downloaded, go to the folder and extract the file "apup.zip", then (Special option, right click and choose "Create Shortcut", then right click the shortcut and choose "properties", in the box called "Target" click at the end of the target ("C:\AutoPatcher XP\apup.exe" B) ) then hit "SPACE" bar (for 1 space) then "/" (forward slash, not the quote marks here) then type log, (it will look like this "C:\AutoPatcher XP\apup.exe" /log ), then just click "OK" at the botton of the dialog box). This will create a log file so if you have a problem you can get it analysed.

Now, all you need to do is double click the shortcut and let her run, When the Dialog Box for AutoPatcher Starts, make your selection and click "Next", this will take a bit of time, this system checks your system for all available updates, that includes "ALL" components you select, (AddOns, Office versions, Tweaks, Extras, Languages or anything you select).

Once finished all you need to do is Burn the folder (C:\Autopatcher_XP) or all the files and folders inside the main folder to the disk you wish. **Note** If you run anymore than just the base ( AutoPatcher for Windows XP SP3 (x86)auto selected if you are running it on WinXP x86 ) including the updater and the engin (first 2 auto selected), you will need a DVD to burn on. I recommend you use a DVD - RW, this way you can keep updating the disk each month.

Hope that is what you are asking for.
and it's

:P Thanks LarryLazer,

I think this is simple enough for a novice like me to follow, and I haven't found anything like it before, as so many experts use all these funny words, like APUP ( just realized what that is ), that I just bomb out.

My objective is to future proof myself against $$$$$$ spent on OS's, as XP has now been well fixed and proved, my personal cost has been spent on learning it and buying it, there are lots of programs written for it to do almost anything, and I foresee no viable OS on the market for 5 years, from what the experts tell me.

So, when I build my new computer in June 09, if I have XP SP2 CD + Autopatchers for SP3 and then to date, I'm all fixed up.

:P Regards Bil3.
