Ability to download different versions of...

Microsoft creates updates with the same KB value but different content according to the version you are using. E.g. If you are using IE6 there is a patch named KB937143 and for IE7 a KB937143_xp_ie7.
Autopatcher should be able to determine if I have IE6 or IE7 and apply the appropriate patch. This problem also applies to WMP9 and WMP11.
What I'm asking is to have different options and not simply delete previous versions assuming everybody has updated to the latest IE or WMP.
Thanks!

AutoPatcher already detects and installs the correct hotfix based on the IE/WMP/.NET/etc version that you have. Right now, we only include hotfixes in the main package for "older" versions of IE and .NET. About WMP 10 they were included in a separated package.
We can't be always be supporting older versions of some components. When WMP 9 came out, we only supported it for a wile.

Although Autopatcher has downloaded both versions of KB939653, I have selected it to be updated but it is not. My guess is that it is trying to apply the IE7 patch to my IE6... I can apply the patch manually to see what happens...
EDIT: Apparently there is no need. Windows Update doesn't show KB939653 so I assume the update was successful. This seems to be the same problem as the Root Certificates Update which still shows up on Autopatcher as 1st Aug 2007 and is never reported as installed (although it doesn't show up in Windows Update)

AutoPatcher will show you the IE6 version if you have it installed, or thr IE7 if you have IE7 installed. You can't mess with that, unless you edit the modules.
Root Certificates is a headache to find the download link, but that will be fixed.
