there are, in fact. i forgot to report, yesterday (it's after midnight in here, should i said 2 days ago?), i had to update an machine that was still with sp2. that machine had windows live toolbar, from msn 2008. just after update to ie8, at restart, one folder was opening with choice guard inside. i've just fixed that by removing choice guard and windows live toolbar. of course, it could be related to anything else, but it was fixed in that way

it is. in a very short time, it will be even at automatic updates. imho, run ie8 or not is an user choice, not mine. we can provide the tool to deploy their choices, but that doesn't means that it should be an mandatory update for all for some time. with sp2, sp3, etc we always did one thing: for some time, until the update becomes stable, we offer the new one, but also the old one. please, remember that we just removed the updates replaced by sp2 some time after it and the same thing with sp3. i really don't believe that with ie8 could not be the same thing. for some time, until this one becomes more stable, we could offer booth, i can't see why not. it could be even also an addon, but it should be in there for those that wish it. of course, this update will not be mandatory until deployed by automatic updates, so autopatcher can live without it until that (or, of course, offer it also an addon or a plus in the script)
