If you love AutoPatcher, you'll love the FileHippo.com Update Checker - http://www.filehippo.../updatechecker/

I think it would be a nice addition to AP once it gets out of beta. What do you guys think?

I prefer Secunia's Personal Software Inspector

I noticed Secunia the other day.

Haven't had too much time to test it out tho...

Thanks for the recommendation James.. trying it out now.

Edit:

Size: Download of 532kb compared to 153kb for File Hippo's scanner.

First impressions: Slow interface (example, when switching between Simple and Advanced interface). Did not only scan installed software but setup files which I keep for possible future use. Showed a clean bill of health on the Simple interface but 6 problems in the Advanced interface including the fact that I have not patched Adobe Acrobat 9. Did not correctly pick up that WinAmp and other software installed were outdated (maybe a focus on security issues only?).

Yes, Secunia's PSI does focus on security issues. Advanced interface widens the search and picks up parallel installs.

Sometimes I use older versions of software, provided that they are still secure. That's why I like the PSI.
