I just noticed this issue while using AutoPatcher latest update on Vista Ultimate x64 SP1 (SP1 slipstreamed original from Microsoft).
I did fresh install of the OS.
Then started AutoPatcher directly and didn't use the Windows Update Facility.
I ran it again and again until all the updates are not installed, also rebooted as and when required.
But left with one update KB958690 with black colour text indicating update not installed.
So, whenever I used to continue it used to install then ask for reboot.
Then, I verified that the patch was already installed.
Then also, I went to the modules critical folder and executed the KB958690x64 update.
But it halted with the message "This update does not apply to your system."
I guess autopatcher is not able to verify if this update is installed or not.

Hope you fix this soon. :)

B) Keep up the good work. B)

> "This update does not apply to your system.
looking closer to the description of this one in here, it says that fits to:
Supported Operating Systems: Windows Vista 64-bit Editions Service Pack 1; Windows Vista Business 64-bit edition; Windows Vista Enterprise 64-bit edition; Windows Vista Home Basic 64-bit edition; Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit edition; Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit edition

this module works for WindowsVersion=VISTA_SP0_X64,VISTA_SP1_X64, that fits to that description. possible issues:
- the update said that because you already has it;
- the update may fit only if some service is running;
- the module had an wrong detection

assuming that the detection was wrong, i've extracted again the content of this update to look if i've missed something and, in deed, i could have missed. i've toke the detection from an file that had an kb958690_bf, and i believe that it should be without that _bf. i've replaced the detection by the version without it and it shall be ok now (you will have to run this script again in order to get the new file), but i'm not familiar with x64 updates and it could be wrong again. can you please check that and report again, please?

if this detection is still wrong, can you please look into windows:\system32\CatRoot\{F750E6C3-38EE-11D1-85E5-00C04FC295EE} for an .cat file that has an kb958690 in his name, just to be sure about the right file to detect?

thanks in advance and again for your report :)

Updated this post according to guidelines. :)

Thanks for the quick update on this issue. I didn't expect such instant response. :)
I ran the apup tool and found that the KB958690 .apm file was updated to the latest version and hoped that would fix the issue, so I ran the AutoPatcher program. But it failed again. So, I just opened the .apm file in the notepad and checked the detection section.
Then verified the folder path which was perfect. But the issue was with filename.
I did the changes as below which fixed the problem:
Detection Filename:
OLD: Package_for_kb958690_~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.0.1.6.cat
NEW: Package_for_kb958690~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.0.1.6.cat
Just a difference of underscore. Computer needs accuracy to be accurate. :)
Next time onwards if possible, I would try to come up with solution directly which you can update to your server directly.
I have Vista SP1 x64, Win 2008, XP and different variety of system if needed I can test for you, if I am not busy with some other work.

B) Keep up the good work B)

Hi tr20xx...

Cristiano will appreciate the feedback, it helps with keeping AutoPatcher a solid application.

I hate to mention this but we are trying to keep threads readable because they can get very long very quickly
so if you could read the guidelines regarding Log Files & "Quotes" and "edit" your post accordingly it would be
greatly appreciated - in a nutshell we discourage quoting complete posts, it isn't necessary in most cases.

Log Files & "Quotes" - Guidelines

Thanks for your understanding.

Mike

Excellent! Thank You tr20xx for your effort.
