AutoPatcher - Link Cleanup
_def_x_

This is by no means a big deal - more of a cosmetic issue (but practical).
I was messing with AutoPatcher's "About" -> "Release Info" tabs and most of the links given (when highlighting Title)
lead to an outdated autopatcher.com page - it might be a good idea to point the link to the specific Hotfix Depot where
the most recent information can be found.

you mean the "about" in autopatcher.exe? that info is built-in. without update autopatcher.exe, that can't be done. but the infos that are stored in translations folders (like 1033.apl and 1033.msl are wordpad files and that infos can be updated). the issue comes with the .apt files, that are encripted and i'm not sure about those files. i will be mailing antonis about that

If nothing can be done that's fine I was just mentioning it.
The information I'm referring to is found like this:
Run AutoPatcher, the release verifies and loads.
You click the "About" tab to the right of "Advanced" and get the scrolling Credits etc.
Now you have 3 tabs, including "Release Info" - click it.
Here you will get the "Loaded Releases" Window -> Title - Date - Author - Official
If you highlight anything listed it gives you the name just below and outside the window. It doesn't reveal itself as a link but it is.
Some links go to autopatcher.com, or to a page on autopatcher.com that is outdated and can't be found (it might be a hidden link),
others lead to the forums. I just thought it would be nice (unless it is too troublesome) to have the links for each release point to it's
own "Depot" page - not a big deal.

oh, that info... if i'm not mistaken, that info is taken from the .rti file and that can be changed anytime that the .rti file is updated. the ptb and ptg releases already point straight to his own topics. the same thing can be done to other releases (we just need remind it). since james reported that sometimes the .rti file can have an issue if it becomes smaller than the old one, now i just rebuild that file from scratch every time and i take those infos from an txt file, to allow just CP.
in fact, if is that info that you are talking about, that can be easily done. at night, i will replace the rti file from the direct x and extras script. i believe that i will have time for this at night only (something like 8h from now). i believe that the extras should point to here, the java should point to here, the direct x should point to here, etc. in fact, this is more cosmetic, but it's more direct to an user look some infos about each release
ps: i'm sorry, because i didn't realize where was that infos that you are talking about. really, i'm a little slow at this days, i'm not certain about the cause of it yet.

Extras, Java, point to the forums -> autopatcher.com/forums/
DirectX (Nov 08, I don't have the latest yet) and .Net point to -> autopatcher.com
Office 2003 points Here.
Office Addon Pack points to -> autopatcher.com
As you can see it is pretty random, but this isn't important.
Cristiano, please don't give yourself more work, I was just pointing it out as a cosmetic thing that can be done later on.

mike, that isn't really a work, it's more like run a tool. 30 minutes or less and it shall be done. an pain will be check all the module dates in ptg release, because i've realize that at least some of the modules date was wrong. but the issue with this one is find time to check it, one by one, and reminding myself that the date to install is presented in a wrong way (to us, at least)
> a cosmetic thing that can be done later on
yes. because of that, it will be done nice and easily

All the years I've been working with AutoPatcher and I've never discovered those links back to the web-site! I suppose I've never felt a need to go a-clicking, just to see what happens.....
All the releases that I have signed point to the generic www.autopatcher.com/forums/. But, as Cristiano says, it's no big deal to change it. I've made a note to insert the appropriate Hotfix Depot link next time I do each one.
So, Windows 2000 will go here;
Windows XP will go here for 32-bit;
and here for 64-bit.
