no auto-selecting updates

Guest_atomizer_* 18 Apr 2009

hi all - i didn't read anything here because i'm in a bit of rotten mood right now - this is twice i sped through AP and unintentionally installed garbage i did NOT want to install. another installation borked!

please please please consider not auto-selecting critical updates - could use a button instead which, when clicked, would select critical updates.

my own fault? absolutely! but i'd still like to suggest the change

sorry read that. can you please state the name of the update that damaged your system? also, each module has an uninstall. just right-click it and choose uninstall that it will be gone

Hi atomizer...

I might get yelled at but I would agree that AutoPatcher needs a safeguard before beginning the installation of updates.

I don't like that "Exit" and "Next" are side by side, and also there is no turning back when "Next" is hit ( even by accident ).

I kid you not, just 2 days ago I accidentally ran AutoPatcher twice after selecting random updates ( just for a screenshot ),
I thought I was on "Exit" but I caught the corner of "Next" and off AutoPatcher went.

There wasn't an "Exit" button or "X" to stop the progress ( grayed out ). I had to quickly reboot and hope that nothing got borked.

You might think about creating an answer file that has "No Selections". Anything installed will still show as Blue and you can select
the updates you want - if you have been keeping your PC updated there should only be few selections needed.
