probably you are missing some dll in apup folder. try download it from here and keep all the extracted in that folder. you may also be missing this. don't forget: to install it, you need run the file once to extract and again to really install it.

Thank you for your help. Yes I have all the files and I already had the VB6 installed. I have also examined with process walker and I can't really see what the problem is. I am running XP SP3. It used to work, and it seems to me the problems are related to a Comodo AV that I was using at a point and have now removed. It would be helpful if I knew what class was being called at line 100 -- I might be able to find it and see what needs to be registered.

go to start > run, type REGSVR32 SCRRUN.DLL and press enter
