When running apup I get the following popup almost immediately:

Automation error

probably you are missing some dll in apup folder. try download it from here and keep all the extracted in that folder. you may also be missing this. don't forget: to install it, you need run the file once to extract and again to really install it.

in order to be more sure about your issue, we need to know more details about your OS and service pack level

Dear Cristiano,

Thank you for your help. Yes I have all the files and I already had the VB6 installed. I have also examined with process walker and I can't really see what the problem is. I am running XP SP3. It used to work, and it seems to me the problems are related to a Comodo AV that I was using at a point and have now removed. It would be helpful if I knew what class was being called at line 100 -- I might be able to find it and see what needs to be registered.

Thanks,
Yves

My apologies for wasting anyone's time. The solution found here worked: http://www.autopatch...hp?showtopic=29

go to start > run, type REGSVR32 SCRRUN.DLL and press enter
