I'm with Startrek on this.... Would someone in the Autopatcher Team contact James and ask what the holdup is??
It seems that every other language has been updated for April 2009 except for ENU Releases??
Can someone else in the team update if James in unable to?
Chris.

Maybe it's time to find another update solution that better meets your needs, may I suggest Offline-Update.
It may also be of benefit to mention that the AutoPatcher Team in all actuality get zero returns for doing this for the rest of us,
except for the few kudos thrown their way in the form of a thank you here and there. But, I figure the increase in the b@^ching
in terms of "when is this going to be done" will eventually drive AutoPatcher into extinction.
AutoPatcher is not an On-The-Spot update solution - if you need any update missing from AutoPatcher please use MU/WU.
...This Is My Own Opinion Here:
I will be completely frank, I am nothing more than a loyal user myself, I couldn't script my way out of a box, and I really love
AutoPatcher and support the AutoPatcher Team regardless, and I can see the writing on the wall - the guys are burning out!

Well sed, sometimes i think ppl do forget that its a volunteer service and I personally love autopatcher, The guys here are so smart and intelligent, and really should be given more credit for what THEY DO to help the rest of us out, for without them we would be using up all our bandwidths updating pcs individually and yet these fabulously wonderful guys, give up their time to help free up our time. THEY ARE SAINTS in my book!!!!

I will preface my comment with this: I have no inside info, I don't know if any of the Dev. Team is married or has kids, this is just an
impression (I don't know anyone here personally). Based on my past experience with freeware projects - AutoPatcher is fizzling out.
The folks who come here wanting to know why this or that update isn't implemented, repeat it over and over, and need it now, might
start looking for an alternative means to update their PC - just my opinion.
Who would want to deal with the BS that goes on in a forum - spammers, or trying to figure out if people are sincere or just causing
trouble by ignoring forum guidlelines...for what benefit, kudos that can just as easily be read as sarcasm - no thank you, we've got
better things to do with our free time.

personally, i don't have any kids, just my 3 cats. but my girlfriend has 2. one that is already adult and an young teenager (12 years old) that thinks that i'm more close to her than her own father. despite of that, i live alone and i do have 2 jobs beside autopatcher. another day, i've said to domenico that i wasn't even my own boss. that is not kite right. i am my own boss in my 2nd job. but if i don't work, i do not win... in meantime, i try find some free time to care about the forum and autopatcher. i do not have time for that all times... but i do have insomnia and it helps sometimes. last night, i had serious trouble to sleep and i've awaked 5 times at the same night. at least, i was able to sleep 1h in the 4h and half hours of my travel back home
i just know that erik has an fiancé, but i don't know nothing else, except that i've found him in other foruns and he is alive. i believe that he had blocked me at msn or at least is choosing to ignore everything. but i don't know why this behavior.
but i just know a few things about antonis and renato. i do know that renato found an job a couple of years ago that is taking almost all his free time. about antonis is a little bit more complicated to find him online. just to give yours a hint, my local time is now 10:22pm and his local time is 04:22am... (he is greek, yours know...). but i do know that he doesn't have time to develop anymore

Guys, Guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I did not jump on these forums to accuse, flame, blame, be a wiseguy, start BS, or anything like that!!!!!
I just asked a few questions about the ENU updates - THAT'S IT!!!!!
I do not think I was b%^ching & whinging.... Have a look.... I do not post often as I don't beleive in all the BS that goes with it.... NUF SAID!
I think the Autopatcher Team have done a fantastic job and LOTS OF KUDOS to them :-)
I use AP both at Work/Home and to be honest if AP start charging subscription fees, I for one would be more than happy, and so would other ppl I'm sure.
I'm a SysAdmin in Aus. where we have Win2k Servers & XP Clients.... We were using SUS/WSUS then M$ dropped support for Win2k so no WSUS.
If we update all Servers/Clients via MU/WU, we pay high $$$ for the bandwidth. AP is a much easier alternative.
Hopefully I have cleared things up here!
Cheers,
Chris.

the guys are behind, they know it, and they don't need you to remind them - is that hard to understand?.
But, instead of getting familiar with the state of the AutoPatcher Project (and the people), you would rather quote:
Quote
I'm with Startrek on this.... Would someone in the Autopatcher Team contact James and ask what the holdup is??
That should set him straight. Really, James is an honorable guy, I trust him with the reasons for the delay and will wait for an update,
a resignation, or (whatever he wants to say about his absence).
And the real motivation is here:
Quote
If we update all Servers/Clients via MU/WU, we pay high $$$ for the bandwidth. AP is a much easier alternative.
that things are not good right now, and patience has been asked for over and over, yet you agree with the OP who actually asks
once again "where's the updates" as he's quoting Cristiano asking for people not to pressure the AutoPatcher team - how rich.
This is the point - plain and simple - it may be best for you to find something that better meets your needs at this point. I completely
understand the need for AutoPatcher, but your need for a timeline isn't feasible at this point - it is open-ended, and the redundant
questions are getting tiresome - again they know what needs to be done, nagging wont make it happen any faster. In fact, I figure
it is whats going to kill the project and that is why I'm finally making my feelings known, for good or for bad.
Also, James will get things updated when he gets around to it (or not at all) - that's the fact of the matter. It's a shame, but it is the
nature of freeware projects - don't get too attached.

Geez..... come on people, lighten up.... I can remember the old days.... (before the MS problem) when getting AP updated, sometimes was a major undertaking. Sometimes there were lengthy delays, and even skipping a month, due
to the size of the program and distribution issues. etc. This new method (basically force on the AP staff by MS), has made getting AP updates much easier.. now they only have scripts to keep current. SOOOO, as far as I'm concerned...
If one of the volunteers needs to take off for awhile, take a vacation, honeymoon, fishing or whatever. And, we have a delay for however long, its no big deal. We only talking about 5-6 updates for April for XP.
If you just gotta have em..... log on to WU and either let it install them.... or see what ones are needed on updated machine, then download them into a folder from MS, create a batch file to load them silently without reboot, save to
some storage medium, and run it on all your machines. Of course, if you have software issues and cant get onto the WU site, you might have to Google this " microsoft critical updates for april" and view the 3rd choice to see what you need.

just an reminder: i don't need any english release. i don't run any english system, i do not require it in any way, but i did the updates for this one anyway. any of yours could have done too. it's too painful take any of the already existent modules and do the proper changes to make an new one and post it in here to help others? is too painful take the download link and post in here? it is? really? we do it for free and we do not require it. it's ask too much to you move any muscle of yours to help yourself? it is, really? are yours sure?
please think well about the answer and remind of the answer when this project is over. oh, yes, of course. the parasites will just move to another one and still will not move any muscle...

This is a little story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.
There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.
Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.
Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job.
Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it.
It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done

> Is there be a may updates of WinXP SP3 enu?
yes, it will be. james still didn't contacted us, but the worst thing that can happen is he be unable to update the xp enu release again. if so, i will update this one again, but my prio is to my own language, that i us to update in the same day. then i do the ptg release (that also us to be updated in the same day or in the next morning), then the xp enu and then the vista 64. vista 64 will be the last one to be done because this one has a lot less users than the xp releases. i've still didn't any xp enu vm in order to fully test the detections, but the registry detections are common to all languages and the md5 detections can be taken without run the OS. i will not hold any 2k release. i do have the cds from my old machine, that was running 2k, but i really don't have time for more releases. even this one, i just did the updates because in one week we will have another path day and, instead 12 updates to do, we could have 20 or more. and that, of course, could be a pain. i've added ie8 into this one, i hope that yours don't mind. ie8 is already at WU and due that, we should have this one too, but i didn't removed the ie7 nor his updates, because ie8 is still too problematic to be fully trusted. even ms websites doesn't work with it, if you don't check the compatibility mode at the first run. one of those, if yours wish to check it, is the WU himsef... it says that you can't run WU from non-ms browsers or something
of course, i really hope that james is ok and just is unable to contact us and resume his work. i've talked with domenico about that a few days ago. he too can run xp enu in a vm, but his job requires his full attention and mine is fix machines. due that, i can let several machines running tests and in the meantime, i can work in another thing. that doesn't help a lot, but...
