Where can I can a download to restore the corrupted resistry and return to normal operation on the network. I do not want to reload the whole program... this computer does not have any updates on it.

it isn't working since a few days ago? you can try system restore. but you may have an big issue: you may be infected by some kind of virus, because your machine doesn't have any update and due that, your machine is too vulnerable to attacks over internet

Heres what I'd try.

Do a windows repair using windows xp cd.

u put the disk in the drive wait 30 secs and then follow the prompts , it will say press
"r" to repair windows. You will not lose any data doing this, it might fix ur registry.

I wish you luck.

I would do this first and foremost, as cristiano said without any updates on ur machine ur vunerable to attacks.

If this fixes it then i would do the updates using apup.

Then update my antivirus/antimalware/antispyware programs and run each.

I hope this helps you a little. :))

Best of Luck to you!!

shaz, one problem: the oem versions of windows xp us not to have the repair option. but it still has the "r" option at the start of windows install, that will lead you into an command prompt. in there, after log with administrator rights, this command may be choosed too: SFC.EXE /SCANNOW sometimes it helps, sometimes, don't, because it only will check the files
