Well it's great to be back, but this time with some problems. First though, happy to see things doing so well at Autopatcher. Great new interface, evidence of love and kisses all-round at Microsoft (Balmer must have been away that week getting his annual top-off of Brazilian Rainforest Poison Toad Juice), and all things Autopatcher is generally a joy to use.

First time problem, and it's killing me... was to have cut CD's to do girlfriend ... ah, do girlfriend's PC maintenance this weekend. Log below says it all. Please let me know soonest, whenever that pub-induced haze lifts!! Cheers, Ct. (i left email on for this... that PC really needs some WORK!!)

Thanks, Cristiano. Any idea how I can go from here? Could pick the stuff up manually, but it would be nice to have it in the same redist format, but reading scripts tonight is more that I can cope with. In any event, many thanks. /Ct.

you also will need the autopatcher engine in order to be able to fully update an machine. the english release doesn't have yet the updates from this month

then, you will be required to save the entire content of the apup folder (in your case, C:\Documents and Settings\Dan\My Documents\AAutopatcher\apup )in any media (pendrive, cd, dvd, etc) and then, at the desired machine, run autopatcher.exe and made your selections to install

Hi Cristiano, Yes i think i understand the distro proc. It is the extras.7z that i would like to include. For tomorrow, should I try to pick them up manually (include or not, it's just the same really), or do you think they will be merged in correctly to make a full set? Being a few weeks behind does not really matter.

Sorry, i don't want to seem to push. You've had a few long days and do all this cool stuff for glory only.

You talked about the free work you did for a school, and naturally on this wonderful project. All i can offer is that i have been in the computing and general consulting business a l-o-n-g time. Probably put in 3000 hours on a big OSS project during the last recession, and now that i am on my own in a very confederated co-op of "old pros,' almost every project starts with a large free bit of work.

If you keep your goals crystal clear in you own mind, don't let the work run away from you, and keep everyone honest, i think "free" pays off eventually -- it leads to a lot of other good things, good knowledge, and most of all gives you the freedom to work on what you want and with people you like to work with (i have one hard rule -- i never work for anyone i dont trust to make fair and honest decisions for their company and to be at least honest with me and my associates. The moment I feel they are set on playing games is the moment i start getting ready to walk. do that and you'll sleep way better!)

You have no idea how much i respect all of the hard work you guys have put into this thing!!

Many thanks,
Dan

oh... also the md5 wasn't the same, you just need run apup again, selecting the extras package again. apup will discover that and will download this file again by himself. this isn't a big deal anyway, because this file just works to say "official" at the right corner (ok, it works to check the integrity of your download too). if you wish grab this file by yourself, you just need extract it into apup folder, where are the other .rti files

yesterday was just another ordinary day in my life. in fact, was an easy day, because for the first time in weeks, i've found some time to clean my byke :D
