I started from scratch with apup 27 November release.
First run: checked autopatcher engine and Windows xp updates: everything downloaded. Just at the very end of the XP updates it gave the unverified file message. I clicked OK. It proceeded to unzip the various downloaded zip files.
Second run: just checked Office XP: everything downloaded, again right at the end the unverified file message.
Third run: with the 3 above update sets checked, it recognised that everything was already downloaded.
Autopatcher shows all the downloaded updates.
So for those 3 sets of updates apup is now working properly on my system (except for the unverified file messages).
The only thing now is that Autopatcher is showing as not installed several Windows critical updates and some components (e.g. Windows Installer 3.1 v2) that I do in fact have installed.
It also shows some (early) critical and non critical updates as not installed, for which the file versions I have are later that the update's version, i.e. those updates have at some time been superceded. I suppose it would be some work, but nice to have, if Autopatcher could compare the file versions that the update would install with those already on the system and where appropriate mark the update as not needed rather than not installed.

same test here on 27 November apup releases:
XP (86) - downloaded with file verification yes or no - but second time perfect (recognized all files been downloaded)
All office XP(2002), 2003 and 2007 downloaded downloaded with file verification (but second time perfect (recognized all files been downloaded)
checked autopatcher engine - downloaded perfect and unzipped
I agree with JR that XP (86), Engine and XP-Office are now stable
and we also can add Office 2003 and 2007
I've also one or two minor problems with autopatcher, but will report when i patch a new pc with it - currently i'm using autopatcher with my existing pc, and seems to work fine (only minor problems - root and Internet Explorer 7 updates not recognized as updated), i've patched those manually and working fine.
I think we must start new posts on autopatcher separately.

I have downloaded all of the English releases and, aside from the file verification error, there are no problems in apup.exe now. However, autopatcher.exe fails to recognize some installed updates (especially on x64 systems) and it lists one of them twice. I am going to debug the x64 list myself this weekend when I have a bit of time. As for the XP x86 release, I think you already mentioned all of the problems.

About x64 release, post the info in the right thread, please. All info is welcomed. And the detection is the same as before (using .cat files and hasn't changed).
