NOTICE

You (the end user) are responsible for the deployment and outcome of any online scan or test - USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!

The list of online scanners & testing sites are provided for your benefit - USE WITH CAUTION!

No AutoPatcher/APUP volunteer shall be held responsible for the misuse of or negative affect an online scan may have on a PC

Here are a few OnLine Scanners that you can run in the event your PC might have become infected.

This is in response to the false-positives that pop up from time to time concerning the contents of the AutoPatcher/APUP directory.

Please follow the directions given for each online scanner to insure you have performed an effective scan. Use as many ( or all )
scanners as needed to insure the detection and removal of the infected file(s).

List compiled by Cristiano: :)

...ESET Online Scanner
...McAfee FreeScan
...Panda ActiveScan 2.0
...Kaspersky Free Virus Scan
...Trend Micro HouseCall
...Symantec Security Check
...F-Secure Online Scanner
...Windows Live OneCare safety scanner
...BitDefender Online Scanner

IMPORTANT: If multiple online scanners detect an infected file(s).
In the event an infected file(s) is detected, delete the file(s) from the AutoPatcher/APUP directory, run APUP again to download
a new ( clean ) file. To be completely safe you can always delete the entire AutoPatcher/APUP folder ( release ) and start fresh...
-> this is a last resort but in some cases may be needed.

Firewall & Port Testing:
A weak firewall or open port(s) are as bad as leaving your doors wide open when you leave your home. If you haven't tested
your firewall lately it is recommended you perform regular testing at a site(s) you trust.

Please follow all instructions/warnings before performing tests.

...GRC: ShieldsUP! - Recommended! - scroll down to Hot Spots - click ShieldsUP!
...Audit My PC: Firewall Test - Recommended!
...PC Flank: Advanced Port Scanner - Recommended!

Note: About the links to online scanners & testing sites.
It is no surprise internet links change without warning. If a link to an online scanner appears dead, you can try going directly
to the website's main (Home) page and search for an updated link. We will do our best to keep the links accurate.
