support for the vista sp1 script has been terminated

sorry folks, but the idea was keep this one running for some time only, to allow everybody have time enough to deploy sp2 and sp2 is around since more than 1 year ago

thats probably from when I modified the script and since I don't have all those downloads on my computer I can't generate a new rti file for that download. It should say unofficial too.

I have slow internet it would take me a few days strait to download the updates. It took me forever just to download the updates for my x64 computer.

Ran APUP2 and downloaded the latest release .... all went well.
Ran autopatcher and it still states unofficial/unsupported version .. strange thing is when you check the release info section all are stated as true. This is on my XP Pro system.

Checked the log file and didn't find anything out of place....IT HAS ME PUZZLED>

Ran the same on my vista system and once I ran autopatcher to check status it says its official.....NOW REALLY CONFUSED !!!!

Cheers
Bruce

The older version of apup2 will use the cached version of files if they are in your IE cache. using IE cache clear doesn't get rid of them... you have to go to the cache dir and wipe it. The newer APUP2 im working on has that fixed along time ago... I really need to polish it up and get it out the door.

Dir : C:\Documents and Settings\< YOUR USER NAME HERE >\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files

Thanks for the advice but I DO NOT USE Internet Explorer unless it is absoluely necessary...I'm a Firefox user through and through( ever since the first version released)
I though of being smart and copy the APUP directory from my Vista machine to my XP machine but I still got the same result, release info shows all TRUE but the main screen shows it as unofficial/unsupported version.

I AM RATTLED... maybe permanently eraser from XP machine and then copy a fresh copy from the Vista one.

no you don't understand... APUP2 uses Microsoft IE API to do the downloading. At the time of creating that version I didn't know it would auto cache files... so when I made changes to the release.list I wouldn't see them. It confused the hell out of me till I figured it out.

Checked all the internet cache folders and nothing in them...all empty except for the ini file

I have IE 8(I don't use it, I also have FF) and it stores my cache there when I downloaded files with the older apup2. Strange that your cache is empty.
