SP2 should include all updates that SP1 if I'm not mistaken. So shouldn't SP1 not be checked if SP2 is already installed?

not really. sp2 has most of the updates covered by sp1, but not all. the updates for certain softwares, like msie, aren't covered by any sp

yes, that should be the expected behavior. apup is auto-selecting some script for an previews service pack? we have discovered certain issues with autopatcher regarding seven. apup probably have some issues as well. can you please take the log for the selections that apup is doing or at least take an screen of apup script (alt +print screen, then paste into any image editor. just save as jpg and upload it to imageshack or another free image host).

please, report your findings.
