Hey guys,

I would like to know how to tell what is needed to update ALL updates for IE8 ONLY and not IE7?

In other words ALL my new xp installs must only have updates for IE8 from now on and NOT include anything for IE7?

Is this possible at the moment?

Thanks,

Trez.

Good question.

Hopefully AutoPatcher will detect what version of IE you have installed and only select those updates that apply
for installation. In the event you try to install an update for a product not installed it should give you a warning
message when the update is launched.

I'm not sure if it has been adhered to strictly but a clear "description" of the update may be needed - meaning
any IE7 update should show in the description IE7, same with IE8 - if an update should apply to both - IE7/IE8,
what do you think? It wouldn't hurt if you also knew what updates apply and make a list for yourself.

One really cool feature of AutoPatcher is the answer file. Once you know what updates apply, you can select them
in AutoPatcher, deselect everything else and save the answer file as "IE8.Only" or something. When AutoPatcher
is run again it will ask you - "Would you like to load an answer file" - select the answer file, and only the IE8 updates
will be selected for installation.

Hi Mike,

Yes this is exactly what i was wondering myself.

I am wanting to make my xp slipstreamed cd a little smaller. There are allot of updates for IE7 now.
So i would like to know which of them i can now get rid of :-)
