ok, i am confused now. i thought i needed to edit the script you linked too? how do i drop it in my browser?
well, the releases.list file is just an index. inside of it there's a lot of links that start by http. when you have the http link, then you have to select the entire line, starting by the http part. then, with the line highlighted, you need go to edit, copy (or just control C), click into the address bar into your browser and right click paste (or control v). then, hit go or enter. your browser will download the file into an folder. once you have the .script file, then you can do the script editing the file with any txt editor, like notepad

you highlight the link for the script and right-click it. then, edit, copy (or control C)

then, you click into your browser address bar and erase the link that may be in there. after that, you paste the script link and hit go. then, the script will be loaded into your browser and you just need to save it.

the other possible approach is run apup and select only the script that you wanna choose as template and proceed as any other apup download. after the end, don't press exit in apup and look into the apup folder. you will notice an temp folder in there, where all temporary files for apup are stored. you will find in there the script file and the compressed modules. so, all you have to do is select all those files (or just the .script file), copy and save it in a safe location and then edit that file :)
