Hi was coming on to post this but I see you're already in the know...
To my surprise however, the installer jumped from 1.99MB to 3.33MB with just a minor change in version (11.5.0.595 to 11.5.0.596)

Netizen, beware... adobe us to put some bloatware into their software. for autopatcher, we choose the clean link, that has only 1,99 MB (2.095.432 bytes) (md5: AB9FC666DE589C517006526C02627245 ). but some versions of their software has some toolbars hidden inside...

yes, it will. first run, shockwave file out:
2nd test: old shockwave in place (the old module is in here in some place, i may found it to this one be showed in the log, if someone wishes, but the issue is regarding the shockwave download only)
also you can see, there's nothing wrong with the script or with the detection of shockwave himself. and the explanation for that is kite simple: adobe have a dozen of versions for each of their software. for flash, there's one version with symantec toolbar, another one with another toolbar that i don't remember and probably the same thing with others toolbars.

ah yes, I feel foolish now.
Grabbed the file using the link in your log, and you're right, 1.99MB, proper version (11.5.0.596)
I was searching for Shockwave_Installer_Lite which I guess has the aforementioned bloatware. I'll remember to use the other file name from now on (sw_lic_slim_installer.exe)

Netizen, a hint: the link that we choose is an permalink, meaning that each time that adobe updates their stuff, the new version is downloaded. the worst thing that can happen is apup returns to you an error, because the file size and the checks will not match. but that is expected for the new version. oh, of course, the detection will not work either. but also the name is the same, the file will install anyway, except about the detection issue
