Suggested imrpovement

You are doing a great job, guys, and providing us with one of the most valuable services in the Internet.
Yet some things could be improved ...
It is a bit too easy to mark wrong items and either download updates for another language or mix downloads for two items.
Therefore I suggest:
1. Keep language groups clearly apart in the update list.
2. Make it impossible to mark more than one item.
To the latter: My OS is automatically marked in the download list. But if I want to download updates for another item (such as Addons Extra) I don't want the basic OS downloads to mix with them. I.e., I have to unmark my OS and then mark, e.g., Addon Extra. It is too easy to forget to unmark the OS.
If the download list would accept only one mark, there would be no problem. So when I mark Addons Extra, the mark on my OS would automatically disappear.
If for some reason someone would really want mixed downloads, he/she just does one after the other ...
How about that?
Yes, I know, you have much work with Autopatcher, but I do miss the newer updates for the Offices ...

I agree, both suggestions sound like good ideas to me. It does seem like the languages have gotten mixed a little in the apup download list. On at least one occasion I've started a download by not properly ticking the right language. User error sure sucks, lol.
On his second suggestion, it seems like it would go a long way toward stopping users from mixing releases. Despite repeated instructions to not do that, I'm sure there are still many that do. For the longest, I was guilty myself.

good idea, in deed. your suggestions are noted. but currently, we are looking for someone to fix the major issues with apup/autopatcher.exe. for sure, those ideas need some development, but it may be done someday. but for sure, the major issues with apup/autopatcher need to be fixed first...

And for me that would be a pain. For one, if there is an update for autopatcher or the apup engine, you could only to one at a time. I do the oses as separate downloads, but I have one directory for all the ones that are for all oses, like Addons, Directx & .net. Also I have a directory for all th office stuff together, since I don't think there's a problem having them together.

Well, dear darthyoda6, would it really take so much more time to download items you want to join one after the other?
And who many users want to join items, anyway?

well, one possible solution for that could be an "select your language". better than that, an bigger screen. but all those discussions belong to the future, since there's not an programmer to develop apup further
