A separate Office Update feature was discontinued by Microsoft on 01 August 2009 - everything is now handled by Microsoft Update.

I would think this means AutoPatcher can discontinue using/creating/updating Microsoft Office Addons > Office Update Runtime.

Agree or disagree?

by me, agreed, since this module will no longer work, i think. the sad part is that soon or later they will do the same with windows update and, if there's an site that i really hate is microsoft update. too slow in here and yes, i wish update msn by myself and ms, please let me choice if i wish run mu or wu.

but we will require check if something else is required to update office through mu. and no, i don't run any office in order to test this.

Microsoft update has been offering updates for Office for quite some time (years?). It also does other MS software, e.g. silverlight.
But why should this affect autopatcher? Presumably you can access the appropriate MS server to get Office downloads, same as you do for OS and addons? I miss the fact that Office XP updates in Autopatcher have not been updated since March 2009.

because windows update, microsoft update and even office update requires an update to reach them. the idea behind autopatcher is have all the required updates to do all that in offline mode, but not only the update task, but also the required tools to reach wu, mu or ou. due this reason, autopatcher has the required file to reach those sites. with the death of ou, the plugin (?) required to reach that site is no longer required and it shall be removed

as for office xp, we are in lack of people to deal with this one, sorry
