probably something was replaced by ms or adobe. can you please hit the file "hit this to generate a log for apup" and, after select the same scripts that give you that error and paste the log in here?

well, sorry to say that, but this issue is related to this: Valid name, no data record of requested type. this us to happen when:
- you are behind an proxy;
- your machine is infected with some malware.

currently, there's nothing to do when you are behind an proxy, because apup just don't handle that, but the malware part is an good idea to check
