IMO it will be very useful if /log switch is enabled by default, allowing a more fast debugging.
Furthermore, I think it's a good idea to do an import tool, so an user can import an old backup before downloading anything. I noticed current Apup program doesn't recognize very well old Autopatcher backups (old packs downloaded from external servers), so I redownloaded 350 of 540 Mb of Windows XP patches (my backup was only 2 months old).

If the files have not changed it should keep the ones which you have already. Although you can copy the updates that you had before MS shut down the original version, I doubt Antonis would have apup import them by itself, because he could get in legal trouble if MS really pushed it.
