So... Right after a clean install of windows XP SP3. I installed all drivers then I ran the Auto-Patcher from a CD.
Now, my CD/ DVD drive seems to be failing because half the DVDs I try to play, don't. & it takes sometimes as long as 7 minutes for the DVD to start playing. The software freezes up everything during this proses. Now it's not because the PC is too old & can't handle it. It's actually not a bad PC. Anyway, CDs usually don't cause any problems with that drive.
After I installed updates & rebooted, I ran the auto-patcher to install the rest of the updates. I left for a while & it seems like the auto-patcher froze at 3 min. 05 sec. installing an update at 99%.
The auto-patcher; frozen, using 50% of the CPU consistently. after about 20 minutes(I'm not sure of the time because I want up stairs to play on my own computers watching movies etc.)
I got this error -

After a certain time; I rebooted again installed the rest of the updates & connected to the internet.
& this is what happened then.........

I assume that the update didn't install fully or correctly & caused this to happen.
E:\ was the CD/ DVD drive to clarify
My guess is because the E drive is faulty/ defective or/ & failing the computer lost contact with the drive causing this error. This is only my guess so it's open for speculation.
