I'm using apup with only three releases specified, namely:

apup.script
apengine.script
english/win_xp/autopatcher_xp_sp3_enu_20091019.script

Over and over again apup identifies a missing file and decides to download and unpack something to fix it. It identifies:

Missing file C:\Program Files\~A-folder\AutoPatcher\modules\NonCritical\__WMP_noncritical\wmp10\KB895181_wmp.apm
Item WMP 10 NonCritical APMs is missing. Adding its download to the queue.
--Adding http://www.autopatch...l_20090821.7z--

After seeing this happen several times I looked inside the directory:

C:\Program Files\~A-folder\AutoPatcher\modules\NonCritical\__WMP_noncritical\wmp10

to see what is actually in it. There is a folder and a file both with the value 'KB895181' in their names:

folder: KB895181_wmp.apm_files
file: KB895181_wmp_enu.apm

- note the "_enu" in the filename I actually have, as opposed to the
name that the process repeatedly fails to find.

Is it possible that whatever makes apup look for a file called "KB895181_wmp.apm" should in fact be looking
for "KB895181_wmp_enu.apm"?

this was in deed a mistake. the script will rename the module to match with the folder name. the only one thing that shall be downloaded is the rti file, nothing more

but .apm files can make apup look for folders with other names. that is just an setting into the .apm file.

that's fixed now

thanks

And thank-you. I can confirm that apup has finally found a reason to stop downloading things!
