It is unreadable looking at it with a file viewer. I deleted the .apm file and reran APup, but that did not help. You are most likely write that it is being caused by something else. Too bad AP gets messed up in the log when it finds an error.

you can't. that file is encripted. when the rti tool generates that file, also generates other 2 files. one is the same as the .rti, except that isn't encripted. but compare that file with anything is nearly impossible. by the other hand, the .md5 file is taken after the script be signed... and the good thing is that this test can be done in reverse: if our md5 matches with the files that are in the user, then the user can generate an recursive md5 with hksfv (this one doesn't work at my girlfriend pc, i didn't looked for the reason) or any other tool

I ran APup a few times and it did not touch it, so I deleted it and reran APup. This time xp_sp3_enu.rti got
updated with the correct version. I'm am now Official
It doesn't look like APup did its hash-checking on that file. I checked the old(deleted) against the new .rti and the hashes were different, so I don't understand why the .rti file wasn't updated until I erased it.

ok. that is an start. maybe the old hash for that file is set on the script. that will not be found in a clean download test. also, since the md5 check for the compressed file is right, none issue will show in the download process. i will check that in a moment
edit: in deed, the old md5 for the rti file was in there. fixed
thanks

by the way, in portuguese, "no problem" means "sem problema" or "tranquilo" (aka "fine"). "no problemo" looks like an certain governor speaking also T-800

I hope I'm not too late for one more small change. My system now has the newer Windows Update
version and AP detection is flagging Windows Update Agent v7.4.7600.226 as not installed.
The one I have is v7.4.7600.229. I think we talked about this before and since there wasn't a regular update for this, you left it as is.
I just changed the folowing in WindowsUpdateAgent_x86.apm
FileVersion=>7.4.7600.226
for both DetectionFile entries and from my side, this will detect both 226 and 229
I have 229 on XP and 226 on Vista and it flagged both correctly. What do you think, can
this be changed?
