Hi guys

First of all congratulations (and parabéns ) to cristiano and guitar_mike (and everyone else involved) for pulling off an Autopatcher Official Release!

Do you think it is possible to create a slipstreamed Official Release using nLite just by copying all the exes to a folder and pointing nLite to it?

I tried adding all to nlite and only got one complain that "windows-kb890830-v3.0.exe is not a regular hotfix. It is a Tool..."

Do you guys think this is a good idea? Won't it get confused to have both IE7 and IE8 (as an example)?

I will add that slipstreaming is beneficial and can limit the effort of updating a given service pack, there have been many
updates since the release of service pack 3 for Windows XP so if you can install them into an updated disc - this is a good
thing in my view, but opinions regarding the tools used to achieve this are wide, as I'm sure you know.

There is another very comprehensive guide that goes into great detail about this very subject, if you want more reading, well...

oh well, there's a couple of updates that can't be slipstreamed. i knew that this was also impossible to .nets, but another day, someone asked an question about an detection and then i saw that i was wrong and this is possible, at least for some of them. as for kb890830, maybe, just maybe, you can add this one into an oem folder, to be installed at his proper time.

I hope you don't think we were sending you away, it just made more sense to point you to a forum that deals with your particular topic

I really want to do a clean install.
I just don't have a lot of time available to investigate and was hoping there was an easy solution...
I will post on this topic when I figure out how to deal with those odd packages. I think the MSFN Unattended link you suggested is a good starting point!

Just in case you might have missed the page at MSFN, check out HFSLIP (hotfix slipstreamer) - it may be a better and more up-to-date approach.

I would say they both try to accomplish similar goals and RyanVM is another option for sure.

All the programs I've seen offer for me what I want / need - slipstream updates into my install disc, in addition, they all seem to
offer the additional features I am not very interested in utilizing - driver or software application integration, OS tweaks etc. I do
plan on experimenting with these additional features once I have time - I just haven't gotten around to it.

RVMi is very good in itself. The problem is finding the right addons and update pack that will pretty much give you a clean install. That is how I ended up here on these forums, because I was looking for a tool that would basically cross-check my RVM integration. The people over at RVM are helpful too, like here and I have pretty much cleared up all of the discrepancies that showed up between the two applications.

Getting a bit off-topic, but if anyone is interested this is what I currently use for integration:
