Hi,

New Install of Windows 2003 R2 SP2 Standard Edition.
Installed VP6runtimes, Java JRE, .NET 1/2/3

I downloaded new version of APUP 1.1 to d:\ap\XP.SP3.x86

Ran it and get the following errors :

Application Error - Path not found - in prjUpdater.mdlInitialization.init.Folders at line 110

If I click OK I then get :

Object variable or with block variable not set - in prjUpdater.ndlEnvironmentDetection.getSystemComponents at line 102 - then line 104, 108 

AutoPatcher Window Starts, I select Windows XP SP3, and click Next and get the following error :

Application Error - Object variable or with block variable not set in prjUpdater.mdlScriptParser.replaceVariables at line 108

And it does not go away, just keeps coming back and I have to terminate the application from Task Manager.

Hi, is anyone able to answer my question?

This is easy to replicate on a fresh build server 2003, cannot run APUP.

What dependancies are needed to run it that I have missed?

It's not a question of dependencies, but you do have to switch Windows 2003 Terminal Services into install mode, so that Apup can find the \WINDOWS and \WINDOWS\system32 folders.

Execute the following at a command prompt:

change user /install

See Install a program using the change user command on TechNet;

I was logged in via LogMeIn to the console and still had the problem

It's a bit OT, but I'm curious as to why you use LogMeIn rather that RDP?

I login sometime from a corporate office which does not allow RDP Out, so I happened to be in the office.

I also try and install software this way to avoid RDP problems.
