APUP updated to v1.2

Locked

Cristiano's Photo Cristiano 20 Dec 2009

hello again

my friends, in the past few weeks, we was beta testing apup 1.2 to try fix a few issues introduced in apup 1.1. right now, we believe that we already tracked all those issues and now the major issues are fixed.

there are 2 main changes:
1. implemented fix for issue with re-downloading of already downloaded zip …
2. real fix for problem 'invalid property value in prjUpdater.mdlDownloader.processDownloadQueue at line 0'

one another major fix is:
3. added possibility to write in Log App.Version

all the features introduced in apup 1.1 are still in place

As for those that are downloading apup for the first time, the new version can be reached in our downloads page. for all other ones, the new version can already be selected to be downloaded through apup

Let me the first to thank & congratulate u & the other progammers on a great job. The new version works great, except for the NET Framework Addon. One or more files failed verification ( I think, NDP 35SP1-KB 976126 ). I repeated 3-4 times with the same result.

that isn't an fail in the software. that is an fail in ms servers. ms has released NDP35SP1-KB976126-x86.exe a few days ago and this one is already replaced. take a look in here

Overview
Due to an unforeseen issue the ADO.NET Data Services Update for the .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 is not currently available for download. The team is working on a fix for the issue and will make a new version of this update available as soon as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience.

so, that is an ms issue, not ours. as soon they fix the issue, the script will work fine again

Autopatcher is wonderful.

I use it with my computer and my Mum's computer. I also use it with virtual machines (I love having a virtual machine with fully-patched, but otherwise untouched, Windows). No need to download updates twice! I just run APUP, put the whole folder on my USB stick, and run it on all the computers one after another.

Recently I broke my Autopatcher 1.1 installation. I exited it while it was downloading. From then on, Autopatcher believed it was an unverified release. So I am glad to get Autopatcher 1.2 and download everything again. It will be sparkly clean and new.

I wish Microsoft would allow my ISP to host a mirror of the update patch files. My ISP has a "download limit" where I can only download 20GB per month; but they provide a mirror which does not count towards the download limit. I have asked them to ask MS about this, but I don't think MS would be interested.

Anyway, I'm currently downloading all the releases I need for my family, using Autopatcher 1.2.

Thanks for a wonderful piece of software!

-Pat.

Though APUP won't resume in the conventional way, it will redownload the file in progress (from the beginning) when the disconnect happened,
so all you need to do is run APUP again, select the SAME script that you were downloading when you disconnected and APUP will start from
that point and move through the rest of the script. I deal with disconnects on a semi regular basis and I have to run APUP at least 2 or 3 times
before a release gets downloaded.

Well, gotta go - new years for me is less than 6 hours from now :)

I've tried to update my AutoPatcher for the last two days, but I get the following message every time:
Method ‘~’ of object ‘~’ failed in prjUpdated.mdlGeneral.creatPath at line 114
Can't get the update to finish! Any ideas?
Thanks!

please, where are you running apup from? i need check with the developers, but creatPath looks like:
- you are out of space into the target drive;
- you don't have permission to create folders;
- you are running apup from an remote location.

so please, elaborate those questions

thanks

I was trying to run apup from my Dell Mini 9, which only has 723MB of space left, so then I tried running it from a 4GB flash drive - but now that you mention being out of space, it looks like I have even less space on that! So space probably WAS the issue before.

But today I tried running it from my computer at work, and I can't get it to work for me here, either. First I get a popup saying "One of more files has failed verification. Please re-reun AutoPatcherUpdater." When I click on Exit' I get an application error message saying:
Permission denied in prjUpdater.frmMain.Form_Unload at line 106

Thank you for your help trying to figure this out. I have been using AutoPatcher for years, and it has been a HUGE timesavers more times than you can imagine!!

the enu script had an issue that was fixed a few minutes ago. so please, try again

> Permission denied in prjUpdater.frmMain.Form_Unload at line 106
that is an know issue. this us to happen when apup is closing because there's an folder to be removed on apup close. but certain times, the anti-virus software is scanning that folder and then that folder can't be removed and this generate this error

Thanks for a great program. I just used it on a fresh XP SP3 install. Worked flawlessly. Updated all critical updates, .net framework stuff, various tweaks, java. Everything worked as planned.

Thanks Again!
