I ran the APUP.EXE and downloaded the AutoPatcher Updater 1.2, AutoPatcher Engine 5.6.81, and the AutoPatcher for XP SP3.

I'm assuming this has downloaded all updates from SP3 through the last update. Correct?

I can then copy my entire AutoPatcher folder to a CDROM and then run it against another computer. Correct?

In six months (assuming there is not a SP4), I run AutoPatcher again, will it only download only new items? Correct?

When I go to update the computer, items that are blue I can ignore and only install items that are black. Correct?

Do I have the general idea of how to use the software?

Thanks

Shawn

Yep, you're spot on with every point there.

However, I'd suggest using a USB flash drive rather than a CD as the updates comsume a lot of space, and you can run autopatcher/apup direct from a USB, so you can update whenever/wherever you want (with a CD, you have to copy everything off, run APUP and then reburn the CD)

we are clearing the scripts to save bandwith each 3-4 months. so, may be an idea update more often than each 6 months. by the way: xp will not have an sp4

Thanks for the replies confirming I'm using the software correctly, the USB Dongle idea, letting me know there will not be a SP4, and to download more often than six months. I really appreciate the help. Thank you.
