my friend, as we already told you, when every single release is official, but autopatcher still shows as unofficial, then the reason for it is an rogue file/folder in some place. to fix that, we need that you download an recursive md5 tool, like hksfv, install it and then right-click the folder where apup is and choose "create md5". then please, attach it into an post or host it in an free host that you like. without that, we have no way to track that rogue file and remove it

by the way: the scripts check for new files. so, if there's an new file, an new one will be downloaded. you don't need remove it

thanks

Yes I understood that, but as I reported in an earlier post hkSVF crashes and closes partway through the scan, with the MS send/don't send error message.

at my girlfriend pc the same thing happens and i didn't figured why yet. but there's a dozen of softwares to do that and all them do the same thing. hksfv is just one of them. if i'm not mistaken, the 2nd link is recursive and is also freeware, but sourceforge is locked in here. but any tool (since be recursive) that you choose will work nicely. just as an sample, an DOS utility works in my girlfriend pc, but as i said, i didn't tried several tools for that

I decided to start from scratch:

1. Downloaded fresh apup.zip from Autopatcher.com
2. Ran Apup with just updater and autopatcher checked - Autopatcher is official (but empty, of course).
3. Ran Apup with XP SP3 - problem: XP red, false: traced that to the Windowsupdate_X86 files, deleted that module folder, ran apup again to download the update agent again. Now XP true and Autopatcher official.
4. Ran apup with other packs checked, one by one (Office XP, java, Adobe, Net framework, directX, extras), checking after each one - all OK
5. Ran apup with Office addon pack - now Autopatcher is unofficial again, with all packs true.

6. Deleted all fles and repeated steps 2 to 4 above, OK again Autopatcher is official, but without Office addon pack.

7. In a separate folder ran a second instance of Apup with just Autopatcher, updater and office addon pack. The pack is true but Autopatcher is unofficial.
I hope the above information may help (though perhaps not :-))

So now I downloaded and installed ExactFile (thanks for links Cristiano) after uninstalling hkSVF. At least it doesn't crash :-)

I attach the md5 file it generated for the run with just the office addon pack, item 7 above (had t zip the file for it to be accepoted).

done. the file that doesn't match is D:\Apup2\apup2\modules\OfficeAddons\moc07_enu.apm

Posted Image

just delete that file and it shall be ok again. if not present, just run apup and select office addons again that the file shall be downloaded (at least, this one is present into the script and is inside the compressed modules)

houston, we have an problem. i'm at my girlfriend and i was looking into the script that is at our server. due some reason, that file is incomplete and everything beyond Item=Office Genuine Advantage is missing, including the rti file. i don't have those files in here, so i've toke the backup file from the previews version of that script that is at our site and pasted into the file that is the current version. i have no way to be sure if everything is ok in that file from here, but according to the log, it shall be, except by some wrong md5 for some files. as this file was interrupted in the middle, the most provable reason for that is an broken upload that no one had reported about since 27 Nov 2009. i believe that at my home that file shall be ok and i will re-upload it as soon as possible, but probably only tomorrow

thanks

Not quite fixed, sorry.

In a new instance I ran apup with just Autopatcher, updater and Office addons checked and got False for Office Addons.
I attach the pic and the new checksum.md5 (zipped)

ok, now i know at least one of the reasons why this release is unofficial... i've found a few of .bad files (that i will ask why those things are generated, because i don't know for sure) in my local folder. as your may not have that, then one of the reason is already know. my ic is a lot slow today and i don't know if i will be able to finish the tests before my girlfriend call me again and there's at least some tests to be done, between the downloaded version and the one that i have in my local folder

HKSFV will tag a file .bad if the hash doesn't match (which is a bad idea in an AutoPatcher release) -> File - Preferences - Checking.

My opinion is to allow only flagging (warning) of a file's hash state - no alterations to files.

good to know that, i didn't noticed that option. another news: at least one of those files doesn't match something (i've got an that "one or more..." warning). i did another download test last night, just to be sure that this wasn't an localized issue, but i didn't saw the result yet. also, i've noticed that this script has that fileconversion update from ms. if i'm not mistaken, this one is already at v5. i don't know with version is being downloaded. so, i will download the latest version and compare with the one that is being downloaded
