If anyone can reply and tell me what this means it would be much helpful. i am looking to download All available Vista updates & format my system and clean offline install all updates. (was planning on doing it sometime on the 13/03/10 but the offline updates are not working properlly.. so any assistance would be muchly appreciated
PS: App update tools has module editor, what is it for? and are we able to manually download windows updates & have AP install them? or does AP need to download them so it can install them? (i ask because i downloaded Vista SP 2 for when i format, and wondered if AP is able to install that aswell?... does AP download ALL windows updates or just certain ones?
thanks very much in advance for any help to my questions, if i haven't explained clearly please let me know and i will try and explain clearer.
Regards
/u
One more thing, also downloaded AP engine 5.6.0.100 and under the title section it states it's an unofficial / unsupported release, the title bar for the app states "AutoPatcher - Unknown Unofficial Release"
Any ideas?

i'm not sure if this related to this one, but a few days ago i've read something about an update that was replaced a few hours after released. also, 2 days ago we had ms patch day and not all script are updated to match it yet and we also are adapting the current scripts to work with seven. due that, can take some time to fix the issue, but it will be done, don't worry
> PS: App update tools has module editor, what is it for
to make more easy to any user create his own modules, for personal modules, etc
> and are we able to manually download windows updates & have AP install them?
apup runs the scripts that download the required updates and autopatcher.exe allows the user install them
> wondered if AP is able to install that aswell?
yep, ap is able to deploy service packs as well, but we don't do it
> does AP download ALL windows updates or just certain ones?
just the ones that have arrived after the latest SP for the target OS and the ones that was left out the latest SP and still applies after the latest SP

The link to Windows6.0-KB973917-x86.msu does seem to be dead, I got zero bytes.
-> but the offline updates are not working properlly..
The link to your failed file is dead, this happens often when links change or files are removed, this is out of the hands of the
release maintainers, are you also having other problems with certain updates?
-> PS: App update tools has module editor, what is it for
Start the editor (by double-clicking editor.exe) and have a look at the tabs and the input fields, now open a module
(an .apm file found in any of the sub directories within \modules\xxx) in notepad.exe and have a look.
-> downloaded AP engine 5.6.0.100 and under the title section it states it's an unofficial / unsupported release
This is related to your failed download and is designed to alert you the release is not correct, it got your attention didn't it
BTW, if you figure out how to create your own custom release this warning will be present in AutoPatcher unless the release gets signed,
if you create the release and you know it is working correctly you can ignore the warning - just not in this case where you downloaded a
script from autopatcher.com.
-> 2 days ago we had ms patch day
AKA Patch Tuesday. This is when the scripts get updated and the release maintainers get very busy. I would give them a couple days to iron
out any issues with the scripts and if you see posts already in the forums there is no need to repeat what has already been posted. I'm not
saying you did this I'm simply saying - if your issue is the same as an already posted thread - it is being dealt with.
Finally, just to keep the threads readable get familiar with putting your log files in spoiler code...

Will keep checking back on the forum to find out, PS: is there anywhere in particular i should be looking on the forum to find out when the scripts are updated?? (but from what i have seen in both screenshots and just using the program, very nice and handy). sucks micosoft don't allow you to download like this LOL. but eh can't expect much from them though. but thanks for quick replys =)

Hmm, the DotNet 3.5 package is very large and I downloaded it a long time ago but maybe they did something with the link at Microsoft???
Have you tried to rerun APUP selecting the same script, are you having the same issue the second time - incomplete / failed files, you could
have a problematic internet connection - not sure.
...As I'm typing I'm loading the links for these files
I just tested the .md5 download - all checked out size hash everything, so no problem here with the script...
Now, I can't download all 242+ megs but I loaded the link for dotnetfx35.exe and the expected size is good meaning the file is there and the
expected size is correct ExpectedSize=242743296 - so this usually means the md5 will be good also.
I'm beginning to think you have a buggie connection, what is the exact size of the downloaded dotnetfx35.exe file you got?
-> Item md5_checksum_for_DotNet_Addon_Pack.7z is missing or its parts are not completely downloaded.
This is why I'm thinking you may have security software, firewall or something interfering with your downloads periodically, both files seem to
be good, at my end anyway.
Someone with a fast connection will have to verify positively the link to dotnetfx35.exe is still accurate but it looks to be good from my point
of view.

that will be checked. but it's an huge download and will take some time to do that.
> is there anywhere in particular i should be looking on the forum to find out when the scripts are updated?
the apup dialog screen is enough, but each script has his own page. when the script receives an update and is signed, the release date changes
thanks

> DotNet 3.5 package
download test done with an download rate of 2MB/s plus and finished in about 1min 30s (thanks a lot, GVT). the md5 matches with the one that is at the .net script and the size of that file is:
242743296
the expected size is ExpectedSize=242743296
so, it matches
