I was wondering if it would be possible to force start a disabled service with a batch file .. It seems that autopatcher won't install updates correctly unless the "Windows Update" service is set to manual/automatic.. i tryed using reg keys to change the startup values but it doesn't work the way i want it to :( system doesn't reread the regkey till restart i think. just wanted a way to automate alot of the work

autopatcher works with that disabled, but the win7 updates don't. ms designed that in this way. but i'm unsure about how do an .bat to enable/disable that with seven

You may want to have a look Here! - Black Viper is real familiar with OS services and their tweakage. Posting may require registration. :)
