@bizzybody

This forum is for 'apup.exe' and 'autopatcher.exe' related bugs, if you're having problems with specific scripts could you run 'apup.exe /log' and post questions in the specific forums - Vista issues in the Vista forums (with a Vista only log file) etc. It's kind of difficult to address exactly your issue without knowing exactly what files you're having troubles with. I understand you are saying that Windows Update is not detecting .Net 3.5, if it is installed correctly this sounds like a Windows Update issue. Have you confirmed you indeed have 3.5 installed properly, did you get any errors when updating 3.5?

Here's a free tool (portable) that can detect the versions of .NET installed up to v4 - .NET Version Detector

-> which is several versions behind JRE 6 up 21

There are no more direct links to Java, you need to download the .exe, then extract the new module and .rti file by hand. This procedure is updated for v6u21 - see Java - More Info

-> it's downloading 20 updates,... looks like all of which I already installed, including .NET 3.5, IE8 and several security hotfixes. I don't have a list,

Without knowing what updates you are having troubles with (or are not being detected properly) our hands are tied. Again, if .NET 3.5 and IE8 are properly installed and functioning this sounds like a Windows Update issue, maybe someone else has more info to shed light on your issues. :)

-> The /silent option for flash player causes an error message

Flash 9 used '/silent', Flash 10.1 now uses '-install' - the .apm files use this switch for newer Flash installers including the installers in Extras.

My suggestion is to dial in your exact issues and post in the appropriate forums - Extras issues in the Extras forum, Vista issues in the Vista forums. Knowing the updates you are having troubles with (KB#, update name) is a big help.

msmath_enu.apm was removed in 20101029, but inside of the script, the download of that file was still required. fixed

@dr Djidjimilovich :

seven/autopatcher_seven_x86_20110208.script

and

seven/autopatcher_seven_x86_sp1_20110323.script

are incompatible. sp1 removes half of the seven_x86 script. issue: apup doesn't check the sp1 version (that issue may be solved by removing one of them from the releases.list. the same thing was happening when portuguese and brazilian portuguese was in the script. to solve that, the ptb version had to remove the reference to portuguese)

so, if you wish have both, store them into separated folders

Edio, your post was moved Here! - your issue is a script issue and belongs in the Server x64 OS forum.

When I wrote the "Having Troubles" topic I had felt it was a bit too firm but at that time we had so many new posts about the same issue, it was apparent no one was reading the forums. I'm glad now I didn't edit anything because things are repeating themselves once again with 890830. There must be 10 or more posts about this issue and 3 or 4 responses addressing it - the scripts are essentially no longer being updated, the project once again appears to be done.

Expect files to fail, use at your own risk, don't expect any support at this point - we have no volunteers - Sorry :(

I'm only here for now to keep the spammers in check, I suspect when the site renewal is up (maybe sooner) this will finally be the end. Heck, I can't get any help about the image attachment problem so I don't plan on wasting too much time here when no one else seems to care either.

@HellSun Please read Post #31 above carefully!

The issue is being looked into, until there is a steady release manager for XP_SP3_Enu this issue will remain. When the XP_SP3_Enu release has a newer date, the failing date is 20110402 (April 02, 2011), don't expect your situation to be any different than the others.

Btw, this has been posted a dozen times in the forums, doing it again wont change anything. What can you do, either we have a XP_SP3_Enu release manager or we don't, right now we don't - sorry.

The Bug Track System is for AutoPatcher or APUP errors, functional problems, software failing to run on certain OSes, not for failing scripts, we created forums for failing scripts, failed file verification, broken links etc.

The Bug Track System and Development threads are for real software troubleshooting or feature requests, not script (AutoPatcher release) issues. It takes too much time moving the posts, giving them titles - it's much quicker to delete them.

Post #2, #14, and #22 are good examples of what the Bug Track System is trying to deal with - "box pops up saying, access denied" etc - this is a software error.

**********

This thread is not for users that select 12 scripts and get an error - I'm going to begin deleting these posts soon, definitely for ignoring our requests about how (and where) to post log files. They don't belong here.

If you posted to the Bug Track System a log file (or comment) that was nothing more than 890830 failed or similar and you no longer see it here - It Was Deleted - post in the appropriate forum, read 'Log Files & Quotes', it explains everything.

Post #26, #29, #33, and #35 are examples of script errors - these are common errors and get fixed as part of the update process - these do not belong in the Bug Track System.
