I want to help you to traduct this program in french.
I'm a system administrator, and I can help you.
I can traduct this program and test it with : Windows 2000 / XP / 7 (french versions).
I'm searching a program wich can download Windows patchs, which support Windows 7 with command line options : AutoPatcher is actually the only one I found.
I'm actually creating a website about computer's security, in french. I want to use AutoPatcher and other tools with some scripts, to help peoples wich visiting my website.
So, I want to create a official mirror of AutoPatcher (something with rsync), can I do that too ?
How can I help ?
Admins, you can contact me by PM, give me your mail

> I want to create a official mirror of AutoPatcher
that isn't really required, because we only host the .apm files, not the updates himself. due that, the bandwith usage is minimum.
but translate an 2k/xp script may take some time and will require certain skills, like ability to work with md5 tools and a good reading of this guide. for an update list, in old times we had translation packs, that was one already existent script without the updates. issue: today we know that a lot of files are shared. those are pointed in the scripts. they are all those that doesn't have an description of the language, like ITA, PTB, ENU. so, those must stay untouched
so please, any doubts, just reply

I know that Win2k is soon unsupported by Microsoft, and the end of support for Windows XP is in 2014 (not really soon, but it's coming).
Can I help to translate apup.exe ?
1/ Can I translate the interface of apup.exe ? (yes, autopatcher.exe is already in french, good work )
I know that you only distribute autopatcher's files, not windows updates files. That's why I want to "rsync" this url: http://www.autopatcher.com/apengine/ to my server, to create a mirror.
2/ Can I do that ?
Note : I want to use autopatcher with my future website which speak about computers security. I want to wrote my own "anti-malware/virus toolkit" / "security check" in future (It's a long time self made project... if I have time : First I'll create a command line script, after something in C++).
3/ Using autopatcher with my program (send some command line arguments to it), it's possible ? Can you let me that ? Some copyright restrictions about AutoPatcher ? (In my "about" box, I'll write that I use autopatcher, of course!)
4/ Why you don't use some script, like "iMacros" for firefox (+ IETabs ?), and some AutoIt script, to do that work and md5 check ?
Hope this tips can help

it's one idea. if you can, please do an list of the things that are in english and the proper translation. i can't promise any change so soon, because it's up to the developers, but at least we will have an translation done
> 2/ Can I do that ?
yes, you can
3/ Using autopatcher with my program (send some command line arguments to it), it's possible ?
autopatcher has support for some command lines, but it's very restrictive.
> Some copyright restrictions about AutoPatcher ?
autopatcher is freeware. so, you can add it in the way that you wish, just mention it in about that will be good enough
> 4/ Why you don't use some script, like "iMacros"
to be honest, i have no idea about what you are talking about
sorry my rush, but we are having an electrical storm in here. so, unplug everything...

I don't read all your doc's, but I see that you search some URL and informations about Microsoft's patchs.
Here are some tools to help you :
Whatever you do with Firefox, iMacros can automate it. Look here : http://www.iopus.com/imacros/firefox/
AutoIt v3 is a freeware BASIC-like scripting language designed for automating the Windows GUI and general scripting. It uses a combination of simulated keystrokes, mouse movement and window/control manipulation in order to automate tasks in a way not possible or reliable with other languages (e.g. VBScript and SendKeys). AutoIt is also very small, self-contained and will run on all versions of Windows out-of-the-box with no annoying "runtimes" required!
AutoIt was initially designed for PC "roll out" situations to reliably automate and configure thousands of PCs. Over time it has become a powerful language that supports complex expressions, user functions, loops and everything else that veteran scripters would expect.
See here : http://www.autoitscript.com/autoit3/

I'm really tired of downloading the updates on the French Windows XP's I maintain.
The big problem is the lack of free time to help out.
On the other side, if I help out, I might win a lot of time ...
If I'm not the only one helping out the whole process might be faster
As indicated I'm going to read the post.
