Just a note here, I can see Cristiano has posted already but I will post anyway. Cristiano's directions are simpler but both ways work - do as you see fit.

gUiTaR_mIkE and Cristiano thanks for the advice, I have carefully carried out the instructions a couple of times and still get "unofficial" and jre is "false". All is well if I delete all of the java files. Should there be other files updated eg md5 or extras rti or apm?

@gondwana

The Java should be a stand alone release, the 3 files mentioned - jre-6u21-windows-i586.exe, javajre_x86.apm, and java_jre.rti - are all the files needed for the x86 package and they shouldn't have anything to do with 'Extras'. I'm on dialup so this will take a bit but, I will download the x86 version and assemble a java release for myself to make sure all the files are correct, then I will post a .md5 file that you can run against your release. I wouldn't delete the java files just yet unless you can re download without an issue.

I'm determined to get your Java Official, you have double checked right, all the files were put in the correct locations, any additional files could cause the Unofficial status... There's not 2 executables in the java folder or 2 apm files for the Java package, this could cause the release to be Unofficial?

Let me try to create a package for myself using the links here! - I'll be back...

@gondwana

You were correct, the java package is False. I don't know how to reload the .rti file and have it create the original text file that has the list of files it verifies so I started from scratch. I just noticed that you deleted all the java so you may not care to try again, regardless, here's what I have...

The .7z file attached to this post has a .md5 file that will scan the original (failing release) to see if we have all the same files. This md5 scans for all the APUP and AutoPatcher files also (they are needed as well), just drop the .md5 in the same location as all the .rti files and run it. the important files are...

...java_jre.rti
md5: 003b22039b9d0eda8791fca6126dd549
...javajre_x86.apm
md5: 808d964c3b583527eff41341797b79d0
...jre-6u21-windows-i586.exe
md5: 2c2bc52b71a1c3ddb31ab4669d5e3b7e
...windows_addons.apm
md5: 2052bdeec6229917e10bb2cfbfd36403

If all the files verifiy according to the .md5 we have the same java executable, module etc. If you want, the second file in the attached .7z is 'java_jre_x86.rti', this is a new '.rti' that should make the Java x86 package Official, simply delete the existing .rti and replace it with the new one. Again, this is if the md5 I supplied verifies all the files. You can delete the md5 you ran earlier.

hum... and what if that rogue file was signed with the release? probably this is the cause of the issue. mike, i've toke the file that you have signed and it's attached in the first post. i've also re-signed the x64 version, just in case

thanks

@gondwana

Good to hear you got it sorted out, I hope it wasn't too much of a headache for you :)

@Cristiano

I'm glad it helped, saved you a bit of time I hope. I was worried that maybe you used the .md5 as well, it was a test file only to verify the failed release, it might have been better to name it something like 'java_test_file.md5'. I deleted the attachment from post #43 to be safe :)

mike, in deed you saved me some time. right now, i'm still working for 2 at my job, because an certain eunice doesn't wanna do the job that i was/am doing. personally, that job is far easier than the one that i was reassigned for and, due her refusal to work, i still have to do my old job too. and the money? is still the same... the dead-line for her was this last friday, but since she is refusing to work since several weeks ago, i'm without any hope that suddenly she realize that is oveloading me a lot due that. but the main problem due that is lack of time...

A good practice that I have personally and many others would agree is once you have downloaded the releases you want is to rerun apup again...once finished read the log and you may find that on the first run there is a larger list...
Just a suggestion and one piece of advice if posting is to use the spoiler code
spoiler.........next line all the text from the log.....close off with /spoiler
[] around each spoiler...tried to do it but sets in motion

Cheers

Its the standard generic "something is different" error.

look in your Autopatcher dir and look for this file. "hit_this_to_generate_a_log_file_for_apup.cmd" Run it. That will do what it says. Do the same thing you did last time to get that generic error. Close the program and find the log file it created. Attach the log file to here using the" More reply options" button and then attach it.

I'm attaching the log file as desired.

Thanks.

Your log file is strange... it shows that it downloaded 14 files. So quite a few files downloaded. I know commons isn't updated yet I will hit that in a few moments and that should fix the 2 failed downloads at the end. After I post the new commons download ... run the same procedure as you just did and if you still get problems post the new log.

Ok Commons was updated. Run the the same procedures again and upload the log if it still shows as bad.
