I have slipstreamed SP2 onto my Office 2007 disc. I read that SP2 includes SP1. I ran autopatcher to install any updates that came out after SP2. Autopatcher says that I need to installed SP1. Should I have slipstreamed SP1 & SP2, or does autopatcher not recognize the service packs for office 2007???

looking your screen and looking into the module, seems that the sp1 module doesn't include an detection for sp2, making this one show as not installed when the user has sp2. this can be fixed. i can reach an machine that is running office 2007, but that machine was installed without any kind of slipstream and, due that, the results may not match. but i will check it anyway. thanks

ok, checked. can you please check windows registry for this key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Installer\Patches\2E088A209B8B5FB48822AE314737E4E2\SourceList

and look the value for PackageName? the machine where i've looked for this detection is running an localized version and i'm pretty sure that the right filename isn't MAINMUIsp2-pt-br.msp

oh yes, i've looked into SP1 Addon Pack for Office 2007. the release date for this one is Dec 15, 2007 and i'm pretty sure that sp2 was released after that. so, this is an good reason to this module detection doesn't work with sp2

i looked for the "2E088A209B8B5FB48822AE314737E4E2" key and it wasn't there. I did a search for "MAINMUI", and found 1 entry in the same location under "D7544CF2E904F66468F1BFC07B695BE3". the value for PackageName is MAINMUIsp2-en-us.msp. I don't know if this helps or not!!!

yes, it helps. but that D7544CF2E904F66468F1BFC07B695BE3 is located under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Installer\Patches as well? if not, please right-click registry entry and "copy key name" then paste here. with that in hand, an alternative detection grid can be set to detect sp2 as well

oh yes, i've forgot... there's certain registry keys that can't be taken as detection. if the patch above isn't the same, can you please take all registry keys with that key name

D7544CF2E904F66468F1BFC07B695BE3 is located in the same Patches folder, but it also shows up in alot of places through out the registry...i'm not sure if it will showup under the same name on a different computer...in the morning i have to work on a friends machine what i will do is install office 2007 slipstreamed with sp2, and see if the D7544CF2E904F66468F1BFC07B695BE3 is the same on that machine

:D good news so. the sad news is that office 2k7 isn't so "all languages" as i was thinking that was

> it also shows up in a lot of places through out the registry
that's normal

> and see if the D7544CF2E904F66468F1BFC07B695BE3 is the same on that machine
i have a feeling that will be there :)

ok, thanks. with those infos, it's possible add an detection for sp2. but in order to keep the official status, i have to download the whole script and i don't have it right now. i'm not sure if i will be able to do it tomorrow (i'm not at home right now), but it will be done. in meantime, i think that the attached module shall fix the issue. if possible, can you extract it under autopatcher:\modules\Office2007\ replacing the existing file (or even better: move that file to another place, out of modules folder) and look if it shows sp2 as already detected? autopatcher will become unofficial at once, but this issue will be solved in a few days or by putting the original file back in his place

thanks again

yep. for all languages (due that language name in the detection file) will be nearly impossible do an detection. but i will try another approach tonight. maybe, just maybe, an registry entry be shared between languages, but i'm unsure about
