Hi Squall,

That is indeed strange but I think I know what the issue is, you feel like experimenting?

Look for the Adobe Reader .apm file in -> \modules\stand_alone\AdbeRdr933_en_US.apm - open it in notepad (or any text editor).

Now, try this, scroll down to the end of the file - look for this line under...
[Installation]
"module:\AdbeRdr933_en_US" /sPB /rs

It looks as if the .exe is missing, the line should look like this...
[Installation]
"module:\AdbeRdr933_en_US.exe" /sPB /rs

You notice how the .exe is missing in the first line in Red, and how I added it in the Blue line, give it a try, edit the .apm file. When done, run AutoPatcher again to see if you get the Next button.

Using notepad, just go to the end of '_en_US' and add .exe (4 characters only .exe) - make sure to keep the .exe within the quotes, and the spaces outside (the switches exactly as they are - space wise).

Save the file (not save as / don't rename the .apm file), close notepad. Now, rerun AutoPatcher, you should get a Next button. BTW, this will also make the release Unofficial - no big deal, you can delete the .apm and download a new one. We only want to see if this gives you the Next button.

I would let Cristiano make the fix first if this works before installing but this will let us know if this is the problem - I'm pretty sure it is.

OK, the other thing to do I believe is...change in AdbeRdr933_en_US.apm

...from
[OperatingSystem]
WindowsVersion=2K,XP,2K3,VISTA,SEVEN
SystemLanguage=ALL

...to
[OperatingSystem]
WindowsVersion=2K,XP,2K3,VISTA,SEVEN
SystemLanguage=ANY

...or
[OperatingSystem]
WindowsVersion=2K,XP,2K3,VISTA,SEVEN
SystemLanguage=1033

-> Note: 1033=English

oops. in deed, this is the reason for this issue. i don't have in here that script, but i'm downloading it to fix, sign and re-upload

about the lack of .exe, my mistake again. seven doesn't select the entire file name and stop at .exe. if someone knows how to fix that behavior, thanks in advance

I also had this problem when I created a new addons folder this afternoon. I just updated and it appears that all is well now :rolleyes:. Thanks to Squall for reporting it, and many thanks to gUiTaR_mIkE and Cristiano for their next to immediate response to the issue.

If what you mean is 7 'hides' the file's extension for known file types I do think this is the 'default' setting and can be changed...

...To see filename extensions for all files in Explorer,

click the Organize button and choose Folder and Search Options.

In the dialog box that opens, click the View tab and clear (uncheck) the box next to Hide extensions for known file types.

Then click OK.

that part i know... the problem is a little bit deeper. the extensions are being showed, no worries with that. the problem with seven is that if you hit f2, it select the file name until the .exe only and only will select the .exe part if you click at the file once more. i've recorded that behavior to make more easy to see the problem. it is in here. the video has only 378K in local mode and the host has re-encoded the video, so the online version has 73K only

as yours may remember, in xp, when the extensions are showed, when you hit f2, then the full file name is selected, including the extension (if showed) and, as yours can see, with seven, i had to manually select the full file name. sometimes, is possible to forget that :(

Hmm, that would be annoying.

I use F2 for renaming and/or copying file names all the time, that second click to get the extension would get old fast. I know someone in here with Windows 7 has the fix?

Windows 7 has this setup as 'default' behavior I suspect to prevent changing or losing the file extension, same reason 7 hides them, to avoid messing something up.

probably. but this behavior is really annoying. i'm digging several forums to track an fix for it and the only answer that i've got so far are replacements for explorer. i will try a little bit more before do that
